Sever Acne on Face (Chin, Cheeks & around Nose), Chest and Back. Doctors cannot diagnose.
Hello,I am 37 yrs and have this sever problem as mentioned above. I showed to a Dermatalogist and he prescribed me with Antibiotics for 3 months. It helped but then came back within a week of discontinuing the antibiotics. The doctor says that only 'Accutane' can cure this but it has side effects. I don't want to take the chance. Before this I had shown this to a Homeopathic Doctor who diagnosed this as related to Liver issues. I was on her medicine for 3 months but didn't help. Please advice as this is important and I am facing self esteem issues. By the way, the acne is all pus filled (hope this helps)

Thanks for your reply. I take yogurt, with lunch, because of the probiotic advantage. I was asked by the homeopathic doctor to reduce protiens (I avoid meats and eggs but consume pulses). I have never done a cleanse. Please let me know what you are thinking.

rishimba,
I will try to answer all your questions to the best of my ability.
1. Skin/scalp issues - acne & dandruff. Sorry I forgot to mention earlier that I have severe acne on the scalp too. They are the same kind (pus filled) as on the face and elsewhere.
2. I have polyps in the colon (I am assuming they are not the cancerous kind since they are off and on). I also suffer from lower back pain. I have deviated septum on the left nostril which is not a major inconvenience. My LDL and Triglyceride levels are also high, which I am able to control by regular exercise and diet. I remember my SGPT numbers to be abnormal when I had the liver tests done last year I was told that this is because I was on antibiotics at the time of testing.
3. Low self esteem issues due to skin problems (I cannot shave).
My back pain is preventing me from doing certain exercises.
I sometimes worry that the polyps may be dangerous and I need to have them diagnosed.
4. I feel heat and extreme itchiness on my face, scalp and elsewhere which leads to short temper.
5. It's been with me for over 10 years. I don't think I can connect it to any past event or disease but I do know that I did not maintain proper hygiene in my early years.
6. I am thinking it's the mornings, although I am not sure.
7. Well, I mostly feel better after taking a shower but I have to wash my hair daily with shampoo to avoid my scalp from feeling extremely itchy and my face from turning oily. Sorry I havent paid attention to the other factors.
8. Personally, I dont think so but you may have a better answer to this question based upon what you are trying to arrive at.
9. If you are referring to the acne, its the same year round.
10. I am Moody, Mild, Agreeable, Suspicious, Easily offended, Irritation
-There are no special feelings associated with a thunderstorm.
-Yes
-Yes
-I have a bad habit of nail biting. I talk to myself, sometimes.
-I am extremely proud and protective of my family. I am not very fond of friends.
11. I feel that I have major responsibilities to uphold, for my distant family and relatives, who desperately need help. This is the only thought that keeps coming to mind, but it is not nagging me continuously.
12. Cheese, Eggs, Fried snacks, ice cream and other greasy foods (although I have completely stopped eating them). I dont like vegetables that tend to become squishy, like zucchini, eggplant, etc.
13. My thirst is normal. I do like to drink half a glass of water after lunch/dinner.
14. Hunger: I almost always have a second helping, so I would say slightly excessive.
15. Not that I can think of.
16. My sweat is normal and is mostly in the Forehead.
17. My bowel movements are mostly regular; however, since the last year I have noticed that the quantity and width has decreased and it is mostly not of the solid and thick kind but semi-solid. It burns slightly during bowel movement (it lasts for a while after I am done); I am thinking this is because of the polyps but I may be wrong.
18. I sleep well and am a fast sleeper. I start by sleeping on my back but then turn over to the right. This also makes me breather easier (because of the deviated septum)
19. Yes
20. I cannot think of any unusual feelings that I have but I am extremely meticulous, suspicious, not social and typically conservative.
21. I have taken antibiotics several times to get rid of the acne on my body. Sometimes I have applied tropical medications like clindamycin, which, unfortunately does not work. No symptoms after the medication.
22. My dad has Heart problems and my mom has knee pain. Both these problems seem to have passed on to me.
23. I am an above average looking guy which fair skin and average height. I am slightly overweight in my mid-region.
24. Not applicable
25. I used to have follicular tonsillitis when I was in High School. The ENT used to tell me that this was because of excessive studying out loud. I had chicken pox when I was an adult (10 years ago). I made a visit to a dentist and she diagnosed that I have gingivitis; however, it seems to have gone now. I have always had dandruff and acne.
Hope this helps. Thanks for your help. Please feel free to ask me anything else that you wish.

I should have mentioned that I developed an allergic reaction to 'Sulpha' medication, about 15 years back. I don't know if I am still allergic or if 'Sulpha' is the same as the 'Sulphur' that you are referring to. Please let me know. I would also appreciate if you can tell me what you are trying to target - the acne or the polyps or all at once?
Thx.

Hi.
I used 'Roaccutane' or'Accutane' as you know it, and I would advise you against it. It has terrible, debilitating side-effects and in my case it's effectiveness was limited and the acne returned after a few months, rendering it useless. I found that Sulphur did the job amazingly well and quickly.
Just a thought... Good luck.

The real answer to controlling acne is by optimizing your insulin levels. The best way to do that is to avoid sugar and grains.
This is especially beneficial for someone suffering from acne, as eating refined carbohydrates and sugar leads to a surge of insulin and an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1 in your body. This can lead to an excess of male hormones, which cause pores in the skin to secrete sebum, a greasy substance that attracts acne-promoting bacteria. Additionally, IGF-1 causes skin cells known as keratinocytes to multiply, a process that is associated with acne.
Also, stress has the ability to worsen just about every disease we encounter, and this includes acne. Thats why it is so important to have an effective tool to help you with your stress before it becomes overwhelming.
sooo..
my thought was to to a total cleanse try colonix SP? cut out refined surgars and carbs. meat is very good for you my opinion, anything organic is better and will not have all the bad additives.
some people are really allergic to certain foods and our body takes in toxins from food and the enviroment, the things we use on our bodies like soap, shampoo, ect. the only way for our bodies to expel these toxins is through our skin or like when we get a bad head cold. your blowing your nose to get rid of infected mucus, coughing to get rid phlegm in the chest. we hve bowel movements that rid our body of toxins ect. you get the picture?
so your have this bad acne problem because of a build up of toxins and this is your bodies way of getting rid of this toxin. however you have not found the thing that is causing this.... so a cleanse would help clean the colon and release years of toxins that are stuck and will continue to cause more problems. doing a whole body cleanse is the way i would go and change your diet during this time. try to eat organicly as much raw foods (fresh fruits aand veg. as possible and stick to organic only.
that is why i asked what your diet was. can you elaborate what you eat on any given week?
this is only my advice i am not a doctor so you do what you think is best.

4 full courses of Accutane and it only helped while I was on the meds. If you already have liver issues it probably not a good idea to take Accutane as this medicine can ruin your liver (thats why they constantly monitor it while your on the meds).
Theres many ways to regenerate your liver.

polyps in the colon just so you know can become cancerous at some point in your life. again this goes back to doing a colon cleanse at least 2x ayear. this will help keep the colon free of toxin build up.
colon cancer has become more prevalent in recent years and i believe it is the lack of us taking care of our colon. impacted feces stays in our intestins and colon until we do something about it. if we don't get rid of it it allows toxins to build up and your body finds other ways to get the toxins out ie acne in your case. your body is trying to tell you something you just have to listen closely. keep a diary of what you eat and how it makes you feel. what triggers your symptoms?
also try jojoba shampoo (- jojoba oil does not make your skin or hair oily or greasy in way shape or form but instead in acts like sebum and actually fools you skin into thinking that it does not need to make any more oils for the skin.)but get it at a health food store or buy on line. make sure it is organic or does not contain the sulfates... they can actually make the condition worse
check out colonix.com this is a product i personally use and know that it works.
check out mercola.com also
lots of good info about what is good for you and not amoung other things

dr. mahfooz, i dont have any reservations against hepar sulphur.
i found some important inputs of the patient indicating sulphur to start with.
like,
- much burning and itching.
- chronicity of the ailment
- lack of proper hygeine earlier.
- lower back pain
- probable cause being excessive intake of antibiotics.
-excess hunger
-some mental symptoms matching sulphur as well.
in most cases like this, anyone would open the case with sulphur.
if it cures, its well and good or else, comparable remedies to be given.

rana,
please note that this potentised sulphur is not the same as the sulpha drugs you have being taking earlier.
there would be no adverse reaction.. and any response to this remedy would be towards cure in the long run.
regarding the selection of sulphur, it all depends on the etiology, modalities, sensations and your generalities..
your inputs have given me adequate reasons to select sulphur over any other remedy.
this may or may not work, but as a rule, if the selection is based on the individual's peculiar symptoms and totality, the remedy has better chances to click.
this doesnt stop you from trying out other remedies like arnica or hepar sulphur or any other. infact, for skin eruptions there are more than 2 dozen remedies in the repertory.

rana1968,
I sincerely appreciate your advice. Since my cholesterol was high (I think it is under control now), I have been having breakfast of oats in 2% milk with raisins and almonds. Most of the time, I complement this with 100% virgin olive oil & fresh garlic and salsa tomatoes on Whole grain bread. In lunch, I have any vegetarian meal (sometimes chicken/turkey) with whole wheat bread. Vegetarian can be cooked vegetables or pulses or soy/tofu. Dinner is mostly rice with Toor Dal or cooked vegetables.
I try to have yogurt with the lunch and 100% juice (orange or apple) with one meal.
I also try to eat an ounce of nuts every day (almonds or pecans or walnuts or peanuts).
Sometimes, I splurge :) with pizza or snacks.
Oh, and yes, I take either coffee or tea, once a day.
Hope this helps.
Rgds,

I check on mercola.com and it is an eye-opener...thx.
I also visited colonix.com (it diverted me to another website) where it asked me to rate my issues in numbers and finally came up with a score that if my answer number is over 40, then I should for the colon cleanse. My answer was '10'.
