Lycopodium or Stramonium?

Hi all, I am advised to give my child, age 8, 1M Stramonium. He has never had higher potency than 200C which has worked dramatically well in years past when remedy is correct.

Many features are Lycopodium in him right now. I would value opinions here on what would make one choose Lyc over Stram. or vice versa.

A key feature currently: Total disdain for peers and people he does not know. Violent ideations about others. Hitting at school. This scorn covers a very grief stricken and lonely heart in this boy.

Thanks kindly for any input, Janny

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
More detail please. You have only hit the high points.

Somehow you have decided on two very different remedies. Sabra

Thank you, Sabra...More info: Extreme sensitive hearing, fear of: Noise, babies, children, peers, social interactions, noisy places like restaurants, gatherings; afraid of people in general (fears they have intent to hurt him with noise, or abduct him, or purposefully upset him - includes people who have no awareness of him). Anxiety about Thanksgiving gathering and seeing cousins due to noise. Depression. Loneliness. Refusing opportunities to be with peers. Defeated. Has no friends. Had to be pulled out of school because of hitting others, new this fall, now home schooled. Thinks everyone is out to hurt him with noise. Lots of anxiety. Extreme interest in his own themes including death/ghost themes and mechanical things; behavioral rigidity; tantrums; perfectionism. Fearful. Phobia about mold in houses (we've never had any) Eschews outdoor play not out of fear but out of rigidity. Last winter: got flu (no vaccines - we stopped vaccinating at age 4 mos); through it quickly with homeopathy but ended up with pneumonia needing antibiotic, first one in 6 years. Then: a huge fright from young cousin who screamed on purpose in his ear, because she knew he hated loud sounds. This summer: cranial sacral treatments which seemd to only make him worse. Thanks kindly, what do you think?

What I would do to that young cousin does not bear repeating. Get a water spray bottle and squirt her any time she gets near him. I personally wouldn't let her in the house. He needs to feel safe in his own home.

Have checked several and think that NITRICUM ACIDUM would be the best to try at this time. Begin 3 doses one day and then once per day to get him through the 25th. If you cannot get 30 or 200X, take what you can get.

Nit A. is a good child's remedy for throat and ears. Loud noise and excessive fears and unhappy activity. Antibotics suppress and he is still probably carrying an infection in throat/nose/ears.

I have checked both your remedies as you wish, but do not feel either are beneficial.

Lyc did not fit well, and Stramonium is more for night terror of the young child before adulthood. Or the incessant energy and talking of the adult. Good for Bi-polar.

Because it is a life-long problem, this may take time to get to the root. He may turn up with old symptoms. Keep track.

Get some Bach Rescue Remedy drops at health store and give a half dropper as needed, 4 or 5 X daily to get through rough times. It sooths.

Go to regular pharmacy and look for wax ear plugs. They are almost clear and can be pulled apart to fit his ears. Roll and insert gently. They are easy to remove. They may help him with the loud noise until he responds to homeopathy and gets better.

Please keep us posted. Sabra

The ear plugs are prob. plastic, not wax, because they stay put and do not fall apart.

Our bodies "hear" with more than just the ears. One reason for his acute sensitiveness S.

Hi, thank you, looks like I lost my previous post, I am new to this, my apologies. Nitricum acidum he has never had. Interesting, thank you. Acute hearing a lifelong issue, triggered at birth due to adverse reaction to hepatitis B vaccine (given without our knowledge/consent): seizures, syncope, to age four, and many other physical/developmental manifestations. Very disabling for my son; very depressing for him, he feels constantly assaulted by noise. Hearing tests show hyper acute painful hearing at certain frequencies. Have not seen any remedy really address this for him except Mercurius vivus 200C at age four gave brief partial reprieve. - J.

Another run together paragraph. How can we set the thoughts in order? Did you not see what I did to the first one? You did not lose a posting.

So, are you discussing using Nit A or just discussing? He needs something in the here and now. Living in the moment. Then one gathers up and studies the past.

Too bad about the vaccination, homeopathy will supply all vaccination needs.

There are several vacc corrections to consider after today....Sabra

Excuse me, yours was not the particular post I had to fix to figure out what it said. I think I will get off and rest a bit. Sorry, Sabra

Hi sabra, I have not purchased the Nit A yet but will. It does look like a better fit than Stram or Lyc, thank you. -janny

After reasearching the symptoms of the hypersensitiveness in your child, has he ever been checked for mild Autism?

You can check this yourself by going to web sites on autism. you can read the symptoms and activity and make your own decisions.

Mainly, this gives you a wider view of his severe need to feel safe and live in relative quiet. One major symptom is the excessive sensitive hearing. It is like being physically struck.

Your child can and will live a normal life when his early childhood is filled with encouragement and care for his sensitivity.

I know two adult men that had mild Autism as children, but are normal functioning adults. They do remember their sensitivity to noise and movements.

Encourage art work. It seems to be a helpful activity of quiet and focus. Many times communication can come through the pictures when he talks of what he is drawing.

You sound as though you are doing everything for his safty as loving parents. Keep up the good work.

Please keep us posted. Sabra

Yes, we have a lengthy history in the autism treatment community and have mostly used nutrition, homeopathy, sensory integration, art, etc for many years. Without these I've no doubt I'd have a profoundly autistic child. He no longer fits the diagnosis technically but has issues. Stopping vaccines was also very important for him. Have not found the Nit A remedy in local stores, have ordered it, sorry I won't have it til next week most likely. - Janny

Get the Bach Rescue Remedy at the health store. It is quite common. It is a flower remedy very near to homeopathy. It will give him more soothing feelings when he gets anxious. Blessings, Sabra

That I do have...using it but it doesn't seem to make a dent. I will add "Kids Valerian Super Calm" which seems to help a small bit. This panic/fear picture is quite deep...looking forward to the remedy. - J.

I gather after reading all over again that he reacts badly when fearful or under stress. It has occured to me that Chamomilla may help for the panic. It is for the child that just cannot be soothed. Wants something and then throws it down when it is given.

I give this to a certain type of depressed person. They are really depressed, but are critical of everything and become irritable. It is calming. Blessings, Sabra

Yes, more than one remedy...much to the chagrin of most of my co-practitioners and doctors. I have done this for years! Give at different hours in the day. S.

Hi Janny,

I just joined this board; looking for like minded people.

My heart sure feels heavy for you and your boy!!

My two cents...

It sounds like you've tried alot! How about past life regression? Kids are so easy to regress. It may be a bleed through from a very difficult past life. There are lots of books on the subject. I'm reading one now. I've done it myself, would that adults were as easy to regress!

Just a thought...

Beth :)

Hi Beth,

sounds interesting, I wouldn't doubt there is "stuff" there. - Janny

Janny, if you ever decide to do this, be very careful. Memories must never be erased. They must be instructed to remain in the person/time it occured and the instruction to clear the present.

Does your child fear the dark, and in what way?? Sabra

Janny how is it going? How was thanksgiving? Blessings, Sabra
