Inflamation of the scalp
I am a 39 year ols male and have been battling scalp inflammtion for about 5 years now, and have a 3 cm x 5 cm patch of scalp exposed because of hair loss from this condition. My scalp gets really red and sore and then if it does not get better quite soon hair will start to fall out. The doctor took a biopsy and that part of my scalp is inflammed but apparently there is no cure, i treat it with a topical steroid ointment. Is there anything else out there that i could try that would help with these symptoms? The dermatologist doesn't seem to be alot of helpBrianwhite on 2008-02-24

Is it not better to wait for a week atleast after giving Graphites 1M?
How do we know that it alone won't be sufficient to initiate a favourable change?

This started about 8 years ago, the scalp got very sore red and tender to the touch then hair started to fall out after about 3 years with this happening off and on the dermatologist took a biopsy and sent it for testing which showed the scalp was very inflamed and was killing the hair follicles, the dermatologist started me on Clobetasol applied to to the area and it has seemed to do a somewhat decent job of keeping the inflammation in check but I still have alot of flare ups. I have never had issues with my scalp until this started I used to have exzema on my hands when I was younger but that has cleared up. If you need any other info please ask
