Hellish Sick Headaches

Hi,

From time to time I get really hellish sick headaches which can easily involve nausea and vomiting.

I have knowledge of homeopathy so I've listed what I think are the key factors below.

They often come after a period of stress has been relieved, or I take action to resolve a tense sitation.

Bright sharp sunlight, as if the eyes are being stabbed, is a factor and if it's hot sun then even more so. My eyes are very blue and perhaps NOT at their best. The headaches may well be related to over concentrating when doing taskes.

The headaches start in the nape of the neck and spread eventually to the temples. The neck becomes very rigid. Once the neck has gone there is little I can do.

A factor is often detemined physical exertion involving a sub conscious holding of the breath. There is a lot of sweat lost.

Often they may be related to NOT having eaten and eating can eleviate them a bit.

Once the headache has started stooping aggrivates it. There tends to be a lot of yawning as if grasping for oxygen. A dark room is VERY MUCH preferable to a lighter one.

It's hard to rest during the headache but laying of firm surfaces is definately better than soft ones. Possibly raising the head helps but by that stage I'm NOT paying too much attention.

Sleep relieves this nearly completely as if the mind eventually get the chance to switch off. During the headache the mind seems to be spinning to fast trying to deal with things that are worrying me.

I'd appreciate an suggestions as to which remedies might help. I've my own ideas but perhaps I've missed something.

I think it is something to do with my eyes. (Bright) lights are a problem for me.

Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
addendum ...

In fact during these times of (mental) stress I've noticed that my eye balls harden, from a soft squeezy feel to one more like a rubber ball.

This is VERY noticable. As if the eye muslces have locked up tight.

At these times I find it had to relax as if completing a taask might bring releif to me, which it sometimes does and other times NOT.

Thank you for your responses.

I'm 45.

I can't say I really noticed some trigger to these headaches.

But from a young age I suffered them especially after exerting myself in a intense determined manner physically in bright (and hot) sun light.

As a child success was expected of me.

I suffered many shocks as a child especially to do with authority figures and changing regimes.

Bright sunlight and probably high atmospheric pressure to go with it is very much part of the problem in my opinion.

My natural BP is low. I don't know during the headache but I doubt it changes too much.

I wonder if I fear that I might dissappear so I'm always stimulating myself to raise my BP.

I have had several bad concussions and would add that my head is congested and NOT helped by higher, but NOT excessive, habitual alcohol consumption.

For me key factors are detemined/ stressed exertion in bright and warm conditions.

I sweat buckets during these times.

My skull definately seezes up.

Thank you.

H.

please take PHOSPHORUS 200C three doses on a single day at 6 hours interval in empty stomach.

i expect that after first few days of healing crisis, if at all, the headaches would subside for good.

Thank your Risimba.

Dr Tahira,

I've thought about this as I am determined to 'cure' this one now.

Alcohol and Stroke are the two killers in my family.

What would an orthodox Doctor tell me ?

'Don't be so determined.'
'Don't worry'
'Don't drink'
'Don't do anything'

The headache is aggrevated by stooping and elleviated by lying on a firm surface face down but part of me wants to raise the head and lie on my back.

For me the problem starts with
1/ Black worry about being 'found out' by my Brothers for example.
2/ Then a determination to solve the problem causing the worry.
3/ Mental/ Physical exertion including sort of holding in the breath
4/ Bright light
5/ Hot sun
6/ Excessive perspiration. I sweat buckets.

Heachace is involves a stiff neck. A very stiff neck and spreads to the high temples. It has a sort of needing feel to it as if the fingers could be pressed into the brain at those points.

Part of the thing thing is that I had to live in a regime that didn't suit me.

That's where the pressure and stress come from.

Thanks for your kindness and help.

I'll try each presriptions carefully and slowly.

Phosphorus is an interesting insight.
