Homeopathy terms

Hi --

I was wondering if anyone could explain some of the dosage terms I see on the Materia Medica:

attenuation
potency
trit.

I'm not necessarily interested in self-medicating. Based on what I see, this stuff's well over my head and I'll consult a professional instead. But it does make really interesting reading. Thanks for any responses.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
attenuation: The property of something that has been weakened or reduced in thickness or density.

Potency: Capacity to produce strong physiological or chemical effects. The higher the potency the powerful is its action.

Trituration: A process by which Insoluble solids are diluted by grinding them with lactose.
