Fat around abdomen and hips

My mother is of 52 years old and saw an early menopause at an age of 43-44. Recenty, she is gathering a large amount of fat around her abdomen, waist and hips. It has been compounding problems to her normal movements and urine passage (probably). She developes indigastion and constipation sometime. Doctors can you prescribe some effective remedy for her?
