4 yr old with persistant, productive cough

Hi. MY four year old son keeps getting a cough that is very persistant and productive. He has had it over the winter and then it went away only to come back in the spring. It went away for about 2 weeks and is now back again. He coughs so hard at times trying to get the mucous out that he throws up. The mucous looks clear to white at times and his nose drips dishcarge which can be anywhere from white to yellow. He sounds congested at times but otherwise is healthy. We have 2 other children that don't have any of these symptoms. Any suggestions?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Stop using mosquito repellents, perfumes and talcum powders.
Just wipe the child's face with a towel dipped in hot water after straining out the water. Then keep both legs immersed in hot water(bearable) for around 15 minutes, can repeat thrice daily. It is very helpful in acute cold and cough.

Can u be more precise about the kind of ur child's cough?
Situations which make more worse his problem?

Yes. When he runs, plays hard, or is laughing hard, it seems to bring on his cough. He coughs so hard that he throws up. His nose runs alot as well. The sputnum is clearish/white in nature.

I just also wanted to add that this is really serious in nature and I don't want to take him to a conventional dr. HE is not around perfumes or mosquito repellant. Friends have said he might have asthma, allergies, or sinitus.
