Question on Potencies and acute conditions

Dear Doctors,

I would appreciate if you could give me your views on the following.

I am looking to get some homeopathic remedies for acute conditions (bee sting, cold, earache, etc.) to have them when needed (especially for the children) I read a good few (beginner) books on this topic. But still no clear answer. Most books in the english language recommend C6 - C30 Potencies. Most German books recommend D Potencies anything from D3 - D12 mainly. What is your view on this?
How many different potencies should I have in the house for the accute condition?
Is the differance between for example Arnica D6 and C6 (C30)that big, that it either helps or doesn't in the accute condition and if it is the right remedy?
Also, will Globoli do the same job as liquid forms?

I would love your answer on this also. My son got a kidney infection yesterday. It came without a warning and he was in pain from one minute to the other. It was Sunday. I read, kidney infections can be cured through homeopathy, but also know, a not promptly attended kidney infection could cause damage to the kidney, which is obviously to avoid. As I had no remedy for this in the house I went to the emergency Doctor, who gave him antibiotics, which I hate. But,,,,what would you do if it is your child? Or in this case, if I would have had the right remedy in the house, right of wrong potency (as above) does this cure the kidney infection and prevent damage to the kidney's? Or would it dempend on the severity of the infection?

Please respond, as I am really trying to avoid those antibiotics, especially for the children. they have been on too many.

thanks for your advice
