insomnia/ tiredness

Hi there, had this problem on and off for many years but it all got quite out of hand after having twins 8 months ago. I go to sleep okay but wake up 2-3 times during the night and have difficulties going to slepp. I also have to open my bowels at about 5 o'clock in the morning. sometimes wake up to urinate also my the 5 o'clock appointment with the toilet doesn't fail! I guess I am a bit stressed/worried about things. I am taking chinese medicine but it doesn't seem to cure it completely. I also have loose stools at times. I get low when I am very tired but wouldn't say I am depressed at all. I am quiet happy with my life at present and don't really want to start taking anti depressant if possible. I am hep c positive also. Had a c section in december and I am 40. Please can anyone give me a remedy and tell me how to use it? I am getting desperate as it has been a long time now and I am tired of being tired all the times. Thanks Gabriella

Hi doctor Mohla, I have tired as you said the avena sativa MT. It did relax me but didn't really work. I keep waking up 2-3 times at night sometimes staying awake for 2-3 hours thinking about stuff I relly don't worry about, just anything really. Almost asa if I didn't have time to think in the day and I do it at night. I go to bed at 10 pm and have to get up at 8am to give myself plenty of possible rest before going to work. I also still have the same problem of going to the toilet in the middle of the night which is so annoying. Have you got any suggestions? I would be very grateful, I am so tired of this and don't want to sleep like this for much longer. I do sometime take a sleeping pill, zopicone, out of desperation really. All the best Gabi67

Focusing on the 5 o'clock symptom. How frequent does the urging to go to the bathroom happen? Is it the urging that wakes you up, or do you automatically wakes up and feels the desire after? When it's stool, is it diarrhea?

When you say that you guess you're 'a bit stressed/worried about things', do you mean worries only about this health problem, or other matters?

Thank you for your prompt answer. I wake up as if it was time to wake up and after a few minutes I feel the desire to go to the toilet, mainly once at 4.30 5 and sometimes again at 7- 7.30. It is not diarreha but there is a lot of gas going on. I do think that I became a bit obsessed with the insomnia and I have a feeling that if I stop worrying about it it will eventually go. Other things might worry me but not that much at the moment, life is flowing quite easily although I keep having negative thoughts about my husband not taking his responsibility seriously and not being worth my time. But as we have a family togethr and I have no other family around me living abroad I am a bit stuck. I am also aware that it could be much worse and he is not completely bad but cannot stop the negative thinking! Hope this helps. Thank you Gabi67
