Ongoing Mononucleosis, over a year

My two children and I were diagnosed with mononucleosis more than a year ago and are still having symptoms. My daughter and I often feel better, but suffer relapses when we are just mildly active. My son is nearly always ill, with rare better days.

Consistent symptoms we all have are: stabbing headaches in temples, often on right, suffered at least daily; sensitive to noise and light; weakness, fatigue; body aches as if with flu but no fever; worse from activity, better from lying down; frequent sore throats and soreness in the neck.

Variable symptoms we all have are: sometimes we feel worse after eating. Often the headaches are helped by coffee. We sometimes feel nauseous but we don't vomit.

My daughter also experiences visual blurring separate from headaches; dizziness with falling; and has always had a short and hot temper. She is rosy complected with dark hair and blue eyes, and is highly energetic and sociable.

My son feels ill on waking almost every morning, can't stand up or walk for long periods of time, becomes frequently depressed and silent. He has always had a slow temper and tendency to brood, has a pale complexion with dark brown eyes and lighter brown hair, and will happily sit alone in quiet thought for long periods.

Both children have had growth spurts in this past year so I've been emphasizing protein and frequent meals for their rapid metabolisms.

Additional symptoms of my own include sudden changes in vision from perfect vision to far-sighted: I must hold a book farther from my eyes to read, but need reading glasses for small type. My eyes become tired from the glasses, however, or from reading itself, perhaps. The vision trouble seems related to the headaches but I don't know which is caused by which. Additionally I have some problems with my female reproductive system with intense contraction pain, heavy bleeding and passing clots during first two days of periods; bloating; severe pain during bowel movements during second half of cycle (after ovulation and before menstruation); general weakness during beginning of menstruation and more tendency to sore throats at that time. I have dark brown hair and eyes, olive complexion, normally slim but since inactivity for a year about 25 lbs overweight.

Western medicine has given up on us: after running numerous tests they've concluded that we have an unusually long case of mono and can only wait. We tried acupuncture and it was helpful for me but when I became fully active I relapsed; the children were not helped by acupuncture at all. We're all drinking lots of water, taking Belladonna, and waiting for a shipment from ABC with Canadian rock rose which we've seen recommended for mono.

Any assistance will be so gratefully received!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
P.S. Sorry for the long post. Trying to be thorough with three peoples' symptoms. Forgot to say that my son and I both have difficulty concentrating.

Please, if we're on the right track with Belladonna and rock rose (Cistus Canadensis), or not, please let me know!

Also ages: Son 15, daughter 12, me 47.

Thanks,
Kassy

I just signed on to this forum and am curious if you were helped with the ongoing symptoms of mono? The success I have had with my family and friends was from a very high potency, when the symptoms were new. Not sure what the answer is if they have symptoms for a long time, thank you
