Knee locked

Hi!

My daughter (16) has had a locked knee for the last 10 hours. She is in pain and sitting in an awkward and uncomfortable position.

We have tried arnica, rhus tox, ruta, hypericum, aconite, mag phos in warm water and advil, as well as two T3? codiene (sp. sorry) tablets. All remedies were 30, except hyper which we gave in 5 min intervals for 4 doses and then 2 doses of 1M.

The slightest movement causes her great pain. Heat and cold don't seem to help altho she enjoyed a foot bath with some magnesium in it.

After all these hours her other muscles are also tightening which is not helping.

The doctor was by and called emergency. The orthopedic doctor said to bring her in the morning. Doctor checked for swelling etc - there is none. They don't suspect tears
or serious damage.

She has had results from pulsatilla over the years.

The muscle locking runs in the family. (Her grandfather, great uncle, uncle, mother, brother). None have had it this serious - usually very painful but over in less than an hour. Grandfather had surgery for it.

She is currently in the basement and refuses to let anyone move her upstairs. We were hoping the painkillers would let it ease off so we could move her and/or take her to the hospital. Nothing is touching the pain.

Accident occurred when she was kneeling on the floor and then stood up.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Give hEr bryonia 30c at 2hourly interval for 1day.If significant result doesn't occur, then try with causticum200c potency,2doses on a single day.

Hello!

Thanks for the replies!

We had an ambulance pick her up and she ended up having surgery a day later. A piece of cartilage had bent over and was jammed in a nerve rich area where the tendon/ligaments go thru? She spent almost 2 full days in very nasty pain unable to move her leg even a centimeter. Doctors gave her vast amounts of pain killers and even tried to freeze the joint. Nothing worked so they had to go in. She has a brace and crutches for 2 weeks then she starts physio.

After the operation, the surgeon asked if she was particularily flexible as her tendons? were quite loose. My homeopath has always said that she hyper extends her joints. Sound like silica?

Thanks again for all the help!
