Antidoting a remedy?
Hi.. Just had a question about antidoting. If you take a remedy and it causes aggravations, how would you antidote it? I just read an article stating that you can get rid of the aggravations by antidoting them by putting one drop of the remedy in a cup of water, then dumping it out and refilling it over and over and then taking a sip. Does this work? Or is there some other way to help with aggravations caused by a remedy? I have not seen any aggravations with remedies but I like to be prepared just in case. Would appreciate any more info on this. Thanks!jen78fl on 2008-11-02

Anti-doting should only be used if the person suffering the aggravation has waited long enough (at least a few weeks), because unless there has been gross over dosage of the same potency , it is unlikely that the person will suffer any long term aggravation. As many a times, the right remedy causes an aggravation before the curative response, the best strategy is to wait and watch.
In cases where the aggravation persists, or if a person has been over dosed with a remedy and is suffering due to the dosage, he can be given a remedy among the list of anti-dotes, which is closest to the troublesome symptoms in a single 6x or a 6c dose.

Here are a few things that you could do:
If the potency is less than say 200C and if the aggravation is bearable, observe for a couple of days. Aggravation should subside on its own.
Try drinking/ smelling strong coffee or some drink that has strong aroma.
Look up the antidotes to the remedy taken and pick the remedy that has the same picture as the aggravation being experienced. Usually just one dose in lower potencies 6C to 30C should do. Even olfaction works but depends on the individual.
You may also try the method you mentioned.

Don't worry. Strong smells will make the remedy ineffective only if they are present while taking the medicine.
The reaction starts instantaneously and subsequent strong smells won't antidote it.
