claustrophobia

I am having such a terrible time getting my MRI done. I am having severe pain all up and down my arm, along with some tingling in my fingers. I had one MRI on my shoulder in an open MRI machine. I barely made it through the 35 min. that it took. Now, I have to have a neck MRI. It also is in an open machine, but the trouble is my head will be fixed so that I can't move it at all. I tried to do it the other day and just freaked out. I felt trapped. I know it sounds silly, but I just can't stand not being able to move. What can I do to get through the 40 min. test? Any suggestions would be helpful. If I take a driver, they can give me a valium or something, but I don't think that will help me much.
