Long-term hirsutism

I've had hirsutism since I hit puberty and I'm almost 40 yrs old. I have a whole host of other health issues including Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS)(this includes man-made and natural chemical allergies), digestive disorders (GERD/IBS(with constipation), and Celiac)which I've discovered are related to food sensitivities and allergies, I suffer from a variety of headaches (mostly sinus headaches, cluster headaches, and migraines), I get nausea easily. I have also recently had renal failure from an undetermined cause. I had a reaction to Saw Palmetto in the past. My mother has hirsutism and has had eversince she was a young woman, too. I am always tired and often sick. My doctor has only ever wanted to treat this with birth control hormones which I can't tolerate and only make the problem worse. I don't trust the use of hormones on my body. No one has ever offered a solution that really works. I am so tired of the daily plucking. My skin is too sensitive for everything else and it's the only thing that removes the surface coarse hair that doesn't leave that familiar sign of dark course hair that men get. So far, I've been told that there is nothing I can really do about this. This is more than a mere annoyance, since there is so much hair that I have to spend an hour or two everyday pulling out so much coarse beard hair. I've seen worse than what I have, but mine is bad enough that if it weren't for the daily plucking, there would be no doubt left in anyone's mind that I had this problem, because of the stuble. Plucking is really the only thing I can afford to do cosmetically. I'm tired of this progressively getting worse. I want to look and feel feminine, and what I really want is for the hirsutism to vanish forever. I grew up in a very stressful, abusive environment. I still experience more stress in my home than anyone living alone ought to have to experience. I am afraid of trying herbs without proper guidance with the kidney issues, MCS and stomach issues.

1. Describe your main suffering?

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.


8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.

24. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe the irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc.

'1. Describe your main suffering?'
Where do I begin? The list is so long! I'm always tired, my eyes are always dry, I suffer a lot of sinus headaches right behind my eyes that make me really nauseous, too. And, I suffer a lot of tension headaches that extend into the neck and shoulders, including right now. Those make me feel nauseous, too. And, I'm nauseous so much of the time, even when I don't have a headache. I was recently (in September) hospitalized with renal failure, so I'm also still having problems with my kidneys. The nephrologist doesn't know what caused this, since I don't have signs of diabetes or pre-diabetes. My kidneys have gotten better on their own, but he says that they're still not normal.
'2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?' This list is also really long. I was diagnosed years ago with IBS, and I have the kind with constipation. I have no doubt that even this started for me when I was still a young child, because I remember having the symptoms associated with the IBS at a very early age. I learned early on to shut my mouth and keep quiet about having nausea or pain in the abdomen that couldn't be explained by obvious outward signs of illness, like fever or vomiting and the like. If no visible signs were present then I would just be belittled and dismissed. In recent years, I discovered that I clearly have Celiac, since I began to realize that gluten (and lactose) aggravate the IBS symptoms. The symptoms are less severe when I stay away from these things. Since Celiac is a hereditary condition, my brother started getting his kids and himself tested for this condition. His son, my nephew, also has this condition. This condition doesn't run in my sister-in-law's family. Also, our ethnicity is prone to this condition. I also have GERD. After learning that the pharmaceuticals used to treat this condition are so dangerous, especially if used long-term, I flat-out refuse to use pharmaceuticals to treat my GERD. I'm glad a friend of mine warned me about the medication that I was taking and told me what it did to her. I don't use any medications meant for GERD, including those chewable tablets. I tried DGL, but that didn't work for me very well. I would go through an entire bottle in less than a week and it seemed like it would sometimes actually irritate my GERD rather than help it. I have a laundry list of allergies. I am allergic to the usual suspects, but I am allergic to many more things than the usual suspects. I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), so I'm allergic to the environment. I'm allergic to the things that people with MCS are usually allergic to, but I'm also allergic to many natural things that may not bother others with MCS. To go along with MCS, I also have allergic asthma. The smell of citrus should be pleasant, but if I'm around it for too long, even if it hasn't been peeled yet, a bowl of citrus fruit sitting on the counter will emit enough citrus to start effecting my breathing and will make my voice hoarse. And, I think the items I included in questions one and two are all equally important and all major items. I also have CFS/Fibromyalgia. I have a lot of pain in my joints and muscles. I don't feel rested and refreshed when I sleep. I tire very easily with little to no stamina. It takes everything out of me when I do exert myself, and it takes me such a long time to even get to the point where I can even say that I have recovered from it.

I get really depressed when I don't have the energy or the stamina to join up with others and be involved with the kinds of activities that I really want to be able to participate in. I want to be able to be with my friends more often and to be able to partake in normal activities. But, how can I when I get so exhausted just from taking care of chores around the house or going out to take care of my errands, such as my grocery shopping? I find that I even avoid these necessary activities as long as possible, because I know I'll just end up being wiped out for an extended period of time. Speaking of which, I'll have to get back to you with some of these other questions later, because this is really tiring me out.
