Potencies for children

Hi,
Our Homeopath is currently trying to find my daughters constitutional type. My daughter has over the past year been given Carcinosin, Baryta Carb 30c, Silica 30c and Phosporous 30c. I felt sure that Phosporous would help her as the Phos type seems the nearest to her personality. There remedies have done nothing apart from after taking the Silica she got quite upset and angry for a few days. However I have just been informed that 30c is not the correct potency for a constitutional remedy and that she should have been given atleast 200c. She was given them all as a split dose - one 30c before bed, one the next morning and one the next evening.) Does this mean that Silica or Phosporous may in fact be the correct remedies but the 30c wasn't gonig to work effectively enough. The homepath wants to try another remedy until we get to the right one but as she has always given my five year old 30c I am wondering if this isn't the best way.
I would be interested to hear your views
Thankyou

Hi,
I also wondered whether Phosporous at 200c might be worth trying. ,y daughter doesn't seem to clearly be any one constitutional type but she has many of the Phosporous traits.

I am only experienced so far as I have a toddler and we've been treating him with the guidance of a homeopath - first a local one, who didn't practice properly, and now by one on this site. From what I have learned, a 30C should always be the first dose administered as it is low enough to not cause a major aggravation, but high enough to at least have some response. If there is no reponse within a week, then the remedy probably isn't the right one. I would think that 200C is too high unless you already know it is the right remedy, you have already used the 30C and it didn't hold.

Cautiousness is always best, even with adults. I know myself that I had a bad reaction to a remedy even at 30C, and much worse at 200C, and it made my life very unpleasant for nearly two weeks.

I have also learnt on this site that wet doses are best, especially for young children.

Hi,
Thankyou for your reply. Could I also have some other comments please, especially from homeopaths.

What littlefinn said above is absolutely correct.

Your homeopath is right in starting with 30c.

Thankyou both. I was told this yesterday by a homeopath from a large homeopathic pharmacy in the UK who also said that it is possible that is why nothing has worked for her so far and that as children have higher energy they should have atleast 200c. I was then worried that some of the ones she had been given were in fact the right ones after all.
Thankyou again, it is very confusing when even in the same profession people have such different views but I guess that my daughter would have reacted then to the 30c if they were the correct remedy.
