our dog's jaw trembles
Hi, we have a lovely, healthy little labrador - Matilda. She is almost 4 years old. Occassionally her jaws tremble like crazy. Our vet says nothing can be done - but that seems wrong. Usually they last a few minutes... tonight her jaw trembled for about 10 - 15 minutes.
Can you suggest something for her?

Matilda has been doing this for a couple of years - maybe 6 times a year... maybe a little more frequently lately.
Not when she is excited, not when she is cold or hot, she is usually calmly laying - or relaxing.. and suddenly turns to us slowly with a worried look and the trembling is there. Tonight was the longest ever - after I emailed abc it still lasted a while - total time 40 minutes.
She is a very healthy happy dog - we have another dog - same age -a vizla - does not have this..
Tonight she drooled a lot after 15 - 20 minutes.. she seemed to have something she was pawing at in her mouth - occassionaly...
After looking at various peoples 'discussions' on this topic - I am definitely brushing her teeth every day - maybe a bad tooth?
Thank you - for taking the time - I appreciate your help.
Any ideas?

I have an 18 month old lab, who just recently started doing the same thing. I video recorded her episodes and took her and the camera to the vet. The vet advised me that she is epileptic and was having simple focal seizures. Please take your dog to the vet immediately especially since you said the last episode lasted 40 minutes!
