Dr. Sameer - Achalasia - Protonix Remedy
Hello Dr. Sameer, You are working with my grandson with his allergies and now his father has a request, if you can help him? Thanks, DeniseIn 2001 I had surgery to treat Achalasia. The doctor cut the outer muscle at the spincter above the stomach. The procedure worked however he cut too much of the muscle and they prescribe protonix (proton inhibitor) to keep the acid down in the stomach. I started taking one a day and that was fine for awhile, then he prescribed 2 a day because my body naturally wanted to produce more acid, so by upping the dosage to 2 protonix a day my body doesn't have enough time in the day to produce more acid. I basically am wondering if there is a homeopathic medicine I can take instead of the protonix. I know the body naturally should have acid to acheive maximum absortion of minerals from food, but because the doctor cut too much of the muscle I feel I have no other choice but to decrease the acid. I do supplement with a liquid nutracuetical that gives me my daily requirement for all the essentiall nutrients.
Thanks for any help!
Brad.
