Hives on body when hot

My 5 y.o. has been having hives constantly for a while now. They usually appear on his body, front and back. They are very itchy and are raised. If he scratches real hard, they turn purplish / bluish as if bruised.

Worse after eating some foods. I don't know what the offending food is because the outbreak is so often. I know he's allergic to dairy. Dairy will trigger his asthma.

He feels better after he takes off his shirt. Or cool lotion applied on his skin.

Other problems: dry eczema on legs and backside. Itchy.

Personality: very playful. Doesn't like to lose. Throws tantrum by crying and running away when doesn't get his way. Hard to calm him down. Likes hugs and affection. Likes to sit close to parents. Likes to play with mom's hair prior to falling asleep. Sleeps on his belly.

Favourite foods: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, noodles, white rice, bread, cookies (eats very rarely), donuts.

Thirst is normal.
