Hello Sameer,
How are you?
I am writing today to say that my son told me he was getting muscle cramps during his karate class-his calf muscles seized in the middle of exercise.
I gave him a very small amount of magnesium powder (less that 1/4 teaspoon in some water) before he went to bed but I am wondering if it is a good reason to give him a remedy dose.
He is doing well, he said that he gets these cramps when he exercises but I guess he did not mention it to me lately.
During exams he mentioned that he has trouble concentrating-staying focused. He finds that he can study for a bit, then get up for a while, do something else, then go back to studying, he cannot sit down for too long-in fact he asked me jokingly if he has ADD.
He has had a cold a few weeks ago, it lasted a few days and then the whole thing cleared up.
Last night I thought that I noticed a stye in the inner left eye.
I believe these are the major symptoms I can think of, his mental state is good, he is positive and very mature, generally a very good person.
The tonsils are still big and he still has 'bad breathi ssues'-even if he brushes his teeth, soon after his breath is noticeable- something that bothers him. It seems to me that the odd smell comes from his tonsils, as if he always has a sore throat or a cold. He still breathes from his mouth so perhaps he irritates his throat that way.
thank you,
Marika

Hello Sameer, how are you?
Could I give my son another dose of the LM3 Calcarea? He complained of cramps at the soccer game the other night.
He is doing quite well otherwise. He is now more aware of making good nutritional choices-he still loves to eat but I have heard him say he 'must cutdown on red meat and eating more salads, vegetables and fruits. He has taken it upon himself to make these changes. He is in karate and he wants to push himself to do his best. He also plays sports at school.
Mentally he is doing well, very steady in his temperament and he expresses himself clearly and with humour, not avoiding the issue as he used to when he was younger.

Hello Sameer,
I am writing today to ask re: an injury that my son has incurred in karate class.
Sparring is part of the class, and, a few days after one of those classes he noticed that his arm has a protrusion, quite painful if it gets hit or bashed on a desk or table.
I took him to the doctor and he said it is overcalcification and if it does not go away in 3-4 weeks to go back for an x ray.
I am wondering, should I give him a dose of Calc.Carb LM5?
he is doing well otherwise, has started back in school, lots of physical activity. he has had a very busy summer with soccer and some part time little jobs, he has handled everything very well. He is very much into fitness and wants to eat good food to go along with all the exercise. I would say he is very focused and wants to do well in school too, very sturdy inside yet still a sensitive young man.
I would really appreciate your advice again,
Marika

Please give 3 doses of LM4 once every 5 days.
Second dose onwards, give 10 hits to LM4 bottle before taking out drops.

Hello Sameer,
how are you?
It has been a long time since I gave my son the LM4 Calcarea as you directed.
Last week he told me again that he got a very strong cramp on his thigh (while doing karate and after a long workout). He said his leg locked for a few seconds. I am wondering if I should give him another dose of Calcarea perhaps?
Last time I gave him 3 doses of LM4, once every 5 days.
Mentally and emotionally he is doing very well, steady in his school work and athletics, he also works on weekends (1 or two days). His schedule is quite full as you can see and I am just wanting to keep up his health.
Thank you, sincerely
Marika

It's better to go to LM5 at this stage.
4 doses of LM5 once every 5 days.
Second dose onwards, give 10 hits to LM5 bottle before taking out drops.

hello Sameer,
I have given my son the 4 doses of Calcarea LM5, and this is what happened.
after the first dose he got 3 quite big acne break outs on his face-those cyst-like under the skin that hurt a lot.
after the second dose, he told me that he got a cramp like sensation on his calf but the cramp lasted for quite a while, like the muscle seized on him and it stayed seized. It loosened up after a couple of minutes.
after the third dose he got a sore throat with big tonsils covered in white stuff which lasted a couple of days after which the soreness slowly went away.
I gave him the all the doses five days apart.
Yesterday he told me that he got another cramp on his thigh, the muscle seized again and it stayed like that for a while. This occured after a karate class.
I am wondering if I should give him a bit of magnesium powder (it is a mineral supplement) and it might help with all these cramps? He works out a lot at the dojo and he probably loses a lot of minerals by sweating.
I would appreciate your suggestion, thank you
Marika

Hello Sameer,
I have not received a reply since the last post.
I am wondering if there is a remedy I can give me son for a day-long sports exhibition, it will be exhausting on all level and he is very nervous already
Would there be something to help him relax the nerves a bit before the performance?
I do hope you see this post.
thank you,
Marika

It is difficult for me to prescribe based on these sparse indications.
Why is he nervous before the performance ?

Hello Sameer,
thank you for answering,
he is nervous because the test will be vigorous lasting for hours, he feels that he will forget what he has learned, they need to know everything they have been taught since the earliest years, he may not do the katas up to standard, the teacher expects a lot from him because he has told him so, he is scared that he will have little energy after all those hours to perform as expected.
When he tells me this he laughs nervously and the way he describes it himself is: 'I am the nerves type, I get nervous in my stomach when it's time to do tests'.
Based on how things have gone in the past, things go better than expected, I think he has very high expectations of himself and when the time to perform comes he freezes sometimes, at least on written tests but this is a physical test and he will probably be ok. He has had muscles seize on him a few times so he is staying off red meat for a bit so he does not produce lactic acid, at least this is the advice he got, and they are supposed to load up on carbs like pasta and rice.
He has prepared enough all these past months for it, but he does feel 'butteflies in the stomach for test days'.
thank you,
Marika

Hello Sameer,
I gave the Cuprum Metallicum 6CH as prescribed.
the same day, as we were in the middle of taking the doses, he started verbally expressing opinions to me about how I am treating him when all his symptoms are normal and his nervousness is expected given the rigorous testing he will be going through.
He has said those things before, but this time he was stronger in his tone and seemed that he was more confident in knowing what he was talking about. He was really talking to me about all the weird things I have put them through in their life and because of my 'interests' it has been hard for him all along, things like no television and videos when they were children, no pop, candy and any junk food, etc.
All the time he was telling me these things, he would interject that he now recognizes it is for the better, but 'do you know that I have swimming up-stream having to explain this to my friends?' he vented to me that because I have raised them not in a way that they saw their friends being raised it has been very hard for him all this time.
It was so fast after the first two doses that even I was surprised, I listened and tried to explain at first but mostly I listened. Very interesting reaction, especially since he agreed in the end that yes, it is better for him but it has been hard all along. I saw more anger come out toward me this time.
Two days later he apologized about 'the other day'
Physically, he did just great on his exams, he has one more day of it toward the end of june but he is not even talking about being nervous about it. he has a wrist injury where sometimes his wrist does not bend all the way inward and other days it does bend. The doctor said one of the bones comes out sometimes. We have not gotten x ray results yet, he is to wear a brace.
He has grass allergies, with itchy nose-seasonal-.
If this reaction was an emotional catharsis, I am certainly glad but I did not enjoy it at the time.
thank you Sameer,
sincerely
