Severe acne 29 years old-acne scars pitting-please assist meI have suffered from acne almost my entire adult life. It began when I was about 14 and has never really ceased. I've tried every over the counter chemical treatment-herbal remedy (tea tree oil Vitamin E-aloe vera, masks, peels etc. all to no avail). I am extremely desperate because I am now left with severe ice pick scars-red spots-current breakouts and almost every other type of 'pimple' you can imagine.
It is better than it was when I was growing up (as far as size etc), but I still break out constantly and the scars are really damaging my self esteem. I'm so completely frustrated. I've had one laser resurfacing surgery with microdermabrasion and a chemical peel but the results were minimal and didn't last. I also don't like having my skin burned off-who would right? I was desperate though. I have been reading through the topics-I've been studying 'herbal' medicine for quite awhile regarding thee indigenous plants in my area-I live in MN/WI. I was wondering if silicea for example can be extracted from horsetail adequately or quartz. I'm a rockhound so a specific name of rock would allow me to find and make some.
I have also been clinically diagnosed with manic depressive disorder-PTSD and general anxiety-this was a result-the post traumatic stress from years of physical and mental abuse in a string of horrible relationships. I'm in therapy and on anti-depressants-also birth control pills (for acne). Nothing has worked I feel so helpless some days I could cry. Sometimes I do! It's been so many years-I was hoping that by this age it would clear up. IT's not even just scars but regular breakouts-smaller in size but still noticeable.
My hands and feet tend to be cold-I am not a fearful person but I suffer from generalized anxiety. I have a strong constitution and will-I have survived a great deal in my life. My periods began at age 12 I believe-I also have endometriosis which is under control now but wasn't for several years. I've also had three back surgeries-including one spinal fusion. I have a lot of problems with back/neck/jaw pain. I tend to carry my 'tension' in my head and neck. My bones ache during cold/damp weather and sometimes I go through periods that feel like hot flashes. I hope I'm not providing you with too much info-I am just trying to make it easier for everyone on this board to understand my situation fully.
I also have had diabetes since thee age of 18. I know my laundry list of ailments sounds terribly but honestly it's all treatable accept for the congenital spine condition I have so I actually consider myself lucky. I eat a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet and I eat a great deal of fresh produce and drink a lot of water. I dont' drink a great deal of pop or coffee. I drink copious amounts of tea-green white-and chai. I also use a natural peel mask containing pineapple. I am going to be switching to 100 percent natural shampoo and conditioner-I also would like some advice on an inexpensive cleansing/moisturizing product for my face. I've used tea tree oil/sulpher soap but it really just aggravated my problems. I only have luck with tea tree on my body and not my face.
Ok that's a great deal to take in-please I appreciate any help you can give me.
