Hypothyroidism and Hypogonadism in Males

I am a computer programmer by profession and have been through very high stress situations over the last 9 years. I lost my job in 2001 and also got married at the same time. Got depressed and had anxiety for about an year. Later, been through lot of stress in new job and over all stressful life. I had a stomach ache in 2004 for which I got a CT Scan done to rule out any apendisytis.Everything is normal but had h pilori for which took some antibiotics given by the doctor. Later I started seeing a urine problem like ..... feeling that there is some urine struck in the track. For that I went to a couple of Urologists and got few Ultra Sound scans and also CT scans and blood test s but everything is normal and no one had a clue about it. The symptoms went away by
themselves and came back sometimes. So I left it alone. I have two kids and life was going on well all these days.
In 2006 in a routine check up my primary doctor found that my TSH is elevated and I was refered to an Endocrinologist. The Endo said it is very low and need
to be rechecked if it goes away by itself. I didnt have any symptoms except feeling tired. So I rechecked every 6 months and it is in range one time and it is out of range another time. So I was put on Synthroid 50MCG and later I am on Synthroid 75MCG. My TSH levels were very good since then (now 0.73) which is in normal limits. But my antibodies are too high. Thyroglobulin Antibodies -- 338 H -- Ref Range: < 20 IU/ml; Thyroid Peroxide Antibodies >1000 H Ref Range:

< 35 IU/ml. My doctor said that I have Hashimottos disease (autoimmune) and there is no medicine to bring down the antibodies levels.
In Nov 08, I started feeling low in sex drive and that is when the doctor found out that I had a pituitary issue. My LH, FSH were low and so my testosterone
is also low. Below the reference range. So I was given Androgel, the testosterone supplement gel and I have been on it since then (4 months) but my levels are not back to normal. So my Endo prescribed me Testosterone injections but I heard that there are permanent cures for all these ailments in homeopathy. I have contacted a Homeopath in India who gave me Thyroidinum and Strychnni. I just started (1 week) them but I havent seen any improvement yet. I am seeking help. I appreciate any responses.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Which place in India you are from?

What potency of Thyroidinum you are taking?

Describe yourself as a person when it comes to day-to-day interactions with your wife, friends, family and at the workplace.

Best wishes

Niel

Hi Niel,
Thank you for your response.
I talked to the Homeo doctor in India last night and he told me that it is 1M potency and I am taking Strychnni in the moring and Thyroidinum in the evening. And he told me he added some other confidential remedies.

My question is can I have coffee during taking the Homeo meds ? Also, any food restrictions ?

Can I continue my Allopathy/English medicines along with Homeo ? because my Homeo doctor asked me to stop all my English medications for a week and try the Homeo meds for a week but stopping English meds is making me worse.

About me, I copied some questions from others and am answering them. Also, I will write more about myself.

Hi Dr.Niel,
I am just wondering if we can find a Homeopathic remedy which can rise my LH levels by working on my pituitary, it should cure my problem with low testosterone. Recently when I got my blood work done, my LH was 0.5 and Ref Range:1.6 – 8.0 mIU/ml and my FSH was 0.5 Ref Range: 1.5 – 9.3 mIU/ml. I thought it might help.

Joe1908 last decade
Hi Joe

Thanks for reminding. I had missed this post amongst the deluge of other posts.

Let me make a few things clear:

-The reasons elucidated by you are of no REAL concern to a homeopath. To us, life is not built of anatomical and physiological functions alone. It is more about the dynamis, the life force, variously called prana, chi or shakti; that permeates the mechanical contours of the being that is more important.

-Disease is not a result of some anatomical or physiological irregularity. It is more an outcome of the derangement of your vital force due to various miasmatic actions. The irregularities all happen because of this derangement and not vice-versa.

Given the above background, let me also tell you that your malady is completely curable. But the statement comes with a few riders
:

-There will not be an immediate change in your pathological condition. It will take some time for that.

-Initially, you will start feeling more confident and mentally calm.

-The treatment may span over a year or even more.

Please tell if you are okay with the above. If yes, we can start working on your case.

Best wishes

Niel

Dr.Niel,
Thank you for your response. I totally understand and I dont have a problem to undergo Homeopathic treatment long term. My main concerns are bringing back the following levels back to normal:
Thyroglobulin Antibodies 338 H - Ref Range: < 20 IU/ml;
Thyroid Peroxide Antibodies >1000 H - Ref Range: < 35 IU/ml; FSH 1.2 L, - Ref Range: 1.6 – 8.0 mIU/ml;
LH 1.8 L - Ref Range:1.5 – 9.3 mIU/ml;

As I mentioned, at present I am taking Homeopathic treatment from a Homeopath from a small town in A.P. He has been practicing Homeopathy since 1985 and he has a big name in that town. My relatives in India referred me to him. And he sent remedies to me.

It seems to me that he is not concentrating on any of the pituitary harmones like LH or FSH. What all he asks me is how are your erections? did they imporve ? how are your Thyroid related issues like hunger, tiredness etc.

And he mentioned to take Thyroidinium 1M in the evening and Strychnni 1M in the morning for 1 week and give a gap for 1 week. He also mentioned that he added some other confidential Homeopathic remedies. He asked me to continue until he changes the remedy or hears back from me on my symptoms.

If you start working on my case, do I have to stop what (Homeopathic remedies) I am taking now ?
Also, I am on testosterone replacement(which I have stopped for a couple of weeks) to keep my testosterone levels in range to avoid complications and also to be able to be active
in my family life ?

Please let me know if you need to talk to me so I can call you if required.

Thank you,
Joe

I'm new to this forum, I was looking for a homeopathic treatment for male hypogonadism, but when reading this post it seriously picked up my attention.
Like in mr Joe1908 post where he answers random questions
'Do you like to be alone? '
'Do you have low self confidence? '
'Are you offended very easily? 'etc.
I would like to know, what illness do you have in mind when asking these questions? because in my case most of these questions have answer 'YES' to it. is it depression?

Thyroid hormone deficiency affects all tissues of the body, including multiple endocrine changes that alter growth hormone, corticotrophin, glucocorticoids, and gonadal function. Primary hypothyroidism is associated with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, which is reversible with thyroid hormone replacement therapy. In male children follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is elevated and associated with testicular enlargement without virilization. Men with primary hypothyroidism have subnormal responses of luteinizing hormone (LH) to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) administration and normal response to human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

Permanent testicular germ cell damage may occur in men treated with high doses of RAI(Radioactive iodine therapy). RAI commonly increases serum concentrations of FSH and LH while reducing inhibin B levels without affecting serum concentrations of testosterone.

Homeocare International provides best homeopathy treatment for thyroid problems.A team of highly qualified doctors in Homeocare International are ready to take up any challenging diseases to treat from the root in the best possible manner without any side effects.
