chest congestion, lost voice

I have had a bad cough for 2.5 weeks and also have lost my voice. I suspect it is a virus and I can't shake it. I am coughing up green mucous. I also have asthma and I am reluctant to go to my internal medicine specialist because he will want to put me on antibiotic and give me a steroid shot in my hip. Is there anything else I can do? I am certain it is an infection and my bronchial tubes are inflamed. This bug has been going around my house. Does anyone have any advice?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
please take 4-5 pills of hepar sulph 30c at an interval of every 4 hours 3 times a day for 3 days and report back after one week.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.
