Attn Dr. Kadwa: Yogic Remedy for Complete Rectal Prolapse

Dear Kadwa

Could you please throw some light on the Yogic treatment of Complete Rectal Prolapse?

I am currently treating a young lad of 25 suffering from the problem for past 20 years. He is a very bright chap and was just wondering whether Yoga could be of some help.

Thanking in advance for replying,

With warm regards

Niel

Dear Dr. Niel

Kapalbhati Pranayam and Bahya Pranayam should be done regularly by the patient who is seeking yogic remedy for rectal prolapse.

Kapalbhati Pranayam should be practised for 20-30 minutes and Bahya Pranayam for 3-5 minutes.

It is better to maintain the following sequence while doing pranayam
Bhastrika Pranayam 2-5 minutes
Kapalbhati Pranayam 20-30 minutes
Agnisar Kriya 2 minutes
Bahya Pranayam 3-5 minites
Ujjayi Pranayam 5-8 times
Anulom Vilom Pranayam 20-30 minutes
Bhramari Pranayam 2 minutes
Udageetha Pranayam 2 minutes
Meditate on Pranav 2 minutes

For best results pranayam should be done in the morning as well as evening. In the evening if one does'nt have time, one should do anulom vilom pranayam if one is suffering from neurological problems. One should do kapalbhati pranayam instead if he does'nt have time and suffers from constipation.

If these breathing exercises are done with sincerity and regularity they give excellent results.
Doing the regular yogasanas will also help.

i have described all these breathing exercises in my thread

Best Regards.

Dear Dr.Kadwa

I have started practising pranayama just recently.I try to do it for half an hour but get tired very soon. I am comfortable with bhastrika but get tired with kapalbhati and can do it only for 5-7 mins and that too with breaks. My main problem is anulom vilom during which my nose starts running and everytime I exhale lot of water comes out from my nose due to which I am not able to do it. Is this a normal practice or there is some problem with the way i do it

Thanks for your time and advice

It is normal to start like this. You should increase the duration with breaks first and then you should reduce the breaks you take.

My main problem is anulom vilom during which my nose starts running and everytime I exhale lot of water comes out from my nose due to which I am not able to do it.
It(thin coryza) is a symptom of natrum mur. So that may be due to the homeo remedy you have taken. It should go away within few days. If it does'nt go away, you may take 1 tablet of laxmi vilas ras and 1/2 tsf sitopaladi choorna twice a day until the problem is over.

Pranayam becomes more easier and natural if done while listening prayers or devotional songs like sufi songs.
