hello Maya
I have a bit more time at this moment.
Anyway--I had no idea that you knew a homeopath there which is great news because you will need a close management and online treatment cannot provide that. You owe it to yourself to have the best care.
The homeopath will see you and can decide (MUCH better than I) the doses and potencies (although you might tell him/her my resons for chosing them-I posted them in some other post).

the homeopath probably prepares some of his remedies there too and might be able to prepare it from that awful tablet. (i recommend potencies higher than 12c= only in dynamized form). No harm in trying it!26 is a lot of time-maybe too much for the causative treatment-but the homeopathy might help him according to symptoms.

Homeopathic diploma courses depend on your educational background and what you want to do (just learn about it to treat family and friends or practice it). I gave you an example of one place who gives them but there are many more (their basic diploma course is 2000-some are 5000!)
but as I said it all depends.

Dear Astra,
Had a discussion about potentizing the medicine which caused our deafness. My husband told me of the discussion he had with my late doctor. The Dr. had said not to risk such things which have not been proved as they could have repurcussions.

I have taken Gymnema previously for 3 years but it didnt really help me as much as syzygium. My homeopath is just a beginner and I dont feel his medicines help in chronic cases. It didnt help me in my diahorrea.

One question I missed out. Mostly i used to sketch portraits, but also still life from books.

Upto date have unable to buy flaxseeds but the oil is available at the paint shop. I have used it during oil painting canvas. Will try in more shops.

If you or Murthy can help me find a good homeopath in Calcutta will be really grateful.

maya_hari last decade
Hello Maya

I will ask Murthy in case he won't see it. It must be someone experienced (so the one you know will not do).

If you are sure this tablet caused the symptom, and if there are others who experienced the same situation then the "remedy" was accidentally proven (like e.g. poisoning or snake bites).

I saw it working only once though and it was an acute situation - 26 years is a long time and your late dr was always a wise man - the symptoms might be more reliable.

each person is different-I know one diabetic who likes the effect of gymnea! But 3 years is definitely long enough.

btw: do not take the flaxseed oil for painting! Instead of flaxseeds I'm using flaxseed oil (it needs to be specially presed and I read that Barlean's high lignan is good) but when I put too much of it in my yogurt it smells like a fresh painting.

Flaxseeds are fresher but more messy as you have to grind them.

Astra2012 last decade
Ok Astra. will do as you say. By the way do i buy ARNICA 1M AND SULPHUR 30 LIQUID??

Will try to get the seeds. Find out from some people if it is available there.

I dont know if Gymnema didnt help me, but Sygyzium definitely helps more.
In the beginning actually it gave me severe acidity, but not now. Just before my D&E my sugar was very high and the dr was reluctant to do it until my sugar level came down. Took Syzygium on an empty stomach and by the time my surgery ws due it came down to 140.

Hello Maya
Please wait with homeopathic treatment some more time. I asked about you a very exp. homeopath (and she is from India)--even though she herself is overloaded with work she might know someone exp. in Calcuta. I hope so-as neither Murthy nor I know anyone.
So wait with arnica/sulphur for a while (although they miight be best TO MY KNOWLEDGE I understand that someone might know better. Darn!)Anyway-you got the potencies and everything right.

That diabetic man I told you about also says that his blood sug. levels are lower when he drinks a little (1/4 glass) DRY (not sweet) red wine with his dinner! No kidding.

Cinnamon is also said to help but I just read it once.

Astra2012 last decade
Thanks Astra. Will wait for Arnica n Sulphur. I am a teetotaller so cant drink wine etc. I have also read about cinnamon. fenugreek is also said to help. The seeds.
havent tried them myself.
Will come back later. It has not been possible to log on in the mornings here. so tom evening shall check again.

maya_hari last decade
I personally do not think it is red wine as such but it coould be either

1. antycyanosides (sp?)-which cause the redness-and they are present e.g. in red fruit-unfortunately fruit is also sweet and so doesn't work
or
2. any fermented food or drink would work-i read once that if you use some apple cider vinegar on your salad or something else it also prevents the peak in your BS after dinner.
But again-I have no real-life confirmation.

As soon as I get some e-mail from her I will let you know.

I also gave her all the info you gave-maybe she'll come up with more ideas.

Astra2012 last decade
Just for your info re. ref to fenugreek (methi) seeds for reducing blood sugar. Yes, it does work quite well in some people. It also reduces BP, and often there is some degree of weight loss.
To take it, you start with a small quantity - we usually recommend 1/4 teaspoon, soaked in a glass of water overnight; drink it down, seeds and all the next morning. Increase gradually, 1/4 tsp. at a time - until you are taking a good teaspoonful daily. However, I don't advise just continuing this indefinitely - take a break every couple of weeks. You know you can also grind the methi and use the powder in cooking or chapatis (small quantities please) - or just use methi leaves now and then, for a change.

Minsa last decade
Thank you Minsa, I hope Maya will see it- all advice is welcome.

I hope to get more info from that homeopath-will tell you what she said.

Maya: can you in India get nosodes --I think about TUBERCULINUM BOVINUM (sometimes they call it BOVI)?
(Don't buy it yet!)

Astra2012 last decade
Yes Astra, I have taken this medicine in different potencies upto 10 m in the past.
The homeopathy store you mentioned above is quite far from my place in one of the most congested places in Calcutta. So may not be able to go there.
Does Kuldeep come to Calcutta. Would love to consult him

Astra2012 last decade
Astra, have tried my best with all yr questions.

9. Mind Symptoms. (This part pertains to your personality and nature. Describe your opinion of yourself, and if necessary get a family member to help you)

Detail your immediate family, ie., what is your position in the family (father/mother/child)? With whom do you live?

I live with my husband and son. His family of mother and 4 brothers are also in the same house but different flats so little interaction. For the last 4 years was in different cities, and last year my son was not living with us but alone in our flat in Calcutta. Have come back only 1 month before.

How many siblings do you have and among your brothers and sisters, at what position are you? Eg. Eldest, middle, youngest.

I have one brother younger by around 7 years.

What is your educational background? What circumstances caused you to stop, or allowed you to continue?

I am higher secondary, Science. I got married very young at 18 and gave my final exams after marriage. Then my burn accident happened at 4 months pregnancy. So no more studies, but do keep on reading anything I get my hands on and remember the interesting points. Make it a point to read the newspaper everyday, and keep myself abreast of all that is happening around me.

How would you describe your personality?

Compare yourself to another brother, sister or friend. In what ways do your personalities differ?

I can compare myself to my husband n son. Both are very tidy people but I am more easy going. I don’t mind the things being kept harrum scarum. My husband has changed some of this. But don’t like dirty house. Things may be here and there but they should not be filthy. Am quite short tempered, but keep it under control as does my husband. But son is very short tempered. We keep the homeo medicines in the chest alphabetically – as much as possible – a-z this way they are more easy to find.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? (hobbies, studying, games, outings, travel, dancing, etc.)

Computer – Internet or card games, tv programs, books – mostly fiction. I must tell you this is how I pass my whole day. Few years ago I went to office with my husband for half a day and liked it but now it’s no longer possible as he is in service now.

What are your highest priorities in life? What makes these priorities important for you?

My highest priority is getting rid of all the weakness in my body, especially legs.. the Raynauds, feet soreness and calf pain, so that I can pass my time constructively.

Give examples of past or current situations that are or have been especially stressful. What has been your response to these situations? How have those situations shaped you?

My doctor gave me a mantra. If you cannot change a situation, accept it and this will make your stress much less. I practice it. But when my family – husband and son are stressed, I too get, but do not express it to them and don’t really react just ponder.

Describe your relationship with others, eg., your immediate family, extended family, friends or colleagues. What observations about your behavior do you find others making? .

My husband is very loving and so is my son. But he(my son) hates anything not in place (Arsenic person?) and may fight with me for this. No colleagues. Few friends but they like me. Extended family – love my brother and his family (reciprocated), love my maternal aunt and uncle and their family I am quite cordial with. My husband’s brothers and family – am in good terms with.

What things or situations can make you uncomfortable or possibly fearful? (eg., certain animals, people, robbers, being alone, water, narrow places, heights, flying, accidents, dark, death, disease, sudden noises, thunderstorms, the future, unknown, performance, etc?)

Hate a closed room. Feel claustrophobic. Start sweating even in winter. Don’t like the dark as because I cant see and am uncomfortable. Love thunderstorms and am at the window if possible. Am afraid to go into water (swimming pool, sea) as I have to remove both hearing aid and specs so am unable to see or hear. Am just afraid of cockroaches and the smallest one can make me leave the room (actually if I remember correctly was bitten by a cockroach at the age of 3 and got ulcers which were very painful. This may have been due to a different reason but this stuck in my mind so maybe this is why am terrified of them). Hate to have bath in cold water even in summer but want to drink cool liquids as much as possible. Nothing else makes me uncomfortable or frightened.

Some people keep their home or work space very neat and orderly, and others have pilesbut may also know where everything is. What is your tendency?

I like neatness but cant keep things neatly myself. Even when I rearrange my cupboard, it is not very neat. Yes my homeo medicine chest is kept alphabetically so that I don’t have to search for the medicine I want, but this was my husband’s idea which I followed. My kitchen must be very clean. Will do my utmost so that the help keeps it clean.

What hurts have you endured in the past, and what emotions do you feel when thinking about those hurts?

I don’t think I can say about the things which hurt me in the past and there have been quite a few. If I ever do remember them just feel sad. Have confided in few people.

How would you describe your confidence level? How do you feel about taking on new projects or enterprises?

My confidence was very low 4 yrs back when we shifted to Bangalore. Living there and having to manage all the things alone has given me confidence. If I can be sure of something within my grasp would like to take new challenges.

What aspects of your nature are you unhappy about, and feel you need to change?

My short temper (especially with my son) and my lethargy.

Is there any present situation, domestic, personal, economical or social worrying you? Please give some detail.

Yes- My son’s job, my husband’s job, my health.

What emotions--anxiety, fear, anger, grief, etc., are especially troubling for you?

I am quite an easy going person. Don’t dwell on things. But anxiety is undoubtedly troubling, but mostly it’s at the back of my mind.

Describe situations which have made you feel doubtful or suspicious.

Don’t really remember such situations. But Hate hypocrisy and lies. May react to them unpleasantly.

How are you affected by exercise?

Am too lazy to exercise. Start for 10 mins on some days and then forget again. But I personally feel that when I do exercise I feel better.

Describe situations which have made you feel jealousy or envy.

When I see my contemporaries so energetic, whereby I cant be so.

When upset, some people look to others for support, while others tend to keep the problem private and don't look for consolation. Where are you in that range of response?

I am private. Don’t look for consolation. Just take a book and read it.

What situations have made you feel sad or depressed?

In what areas of the body do you experience emotions, eg., neck/shoulder tension, tightening of the throat, stomach upset, etc.?

Nothing.

What situations have made you angry? Some people anger easily and forgive quickly, others get angry slowly and forgive slowly. How would you describe yourself?

I am quick tempered and forgive also quickly. But some things I remember even after a period of years but don’t show it to the person that I remember.

What else can you add to the above? What points do you feel are most important for someone to understand who you are?

Have you had any childhood experiences that have had a deep impact on you? Please explain.

No Astra. Only I was not allowed to go anywhere without my mom other than school, which I went by school bus. Very suppressed childhood which I do regret.

Have you had Psychotherapy, Counseling, Religious Experiences or Healing therapy before? How has this changed your attitudes or helped you?

No to all.

(For example, do you dream of family, known people, unknown people, ghosts, animals, flying, falling, water, jungles, God, snakes, etc?)

Mostly I don’t remember my dreams at all. Yes few years ago I had a recurrent dream of seeing an airplane crash from my father’s verandah. The plane would be a passenger one and fall quite near my father’s house. Same thing but different spots from the verandah or different planes. Loud noise in few dreams too which woke me up. The noises were very loud. Don’t remember the situations. All have stopped now.

There is a problem here. I had to click twice but my reply was not getting posted. now there are 2 huge postings from me.

Anyway, yes in India we do not need prescription to buy nosodes. but it is people like us who will buy such things - I hope so and will not get any reactions

maya_hari last decade
Thank you Maya-I just came here but will send your replies to her immediately.
I thought you lost your patience with all this questioning-but seems it is really hard to make people from India impatient.

Astra2012 last decade
i've sent your answers and read them too.
So you know quite some things about homeopathy!
And i still think sulphur is the best choice (in Rehman's Encycl. of rem. rel. in hom."
they say that SULPHUR IODATUM acts the same as sulphur but is more gentle-since you would take it every day I'd rather recommend sulp-i).

We'll see her recommendations too-maybe we'll get kuldeep to talk too--and you will have some reading to do!

Astra2012 last decade
Hello Maya,
I re-read your posts and seems that in one place I mislead you. You were asking about ME (my homeopathic education-which is in local college-as adults continuuing education-they do not offer hom. major- I paid 200 for it)
while I gave you an example about getting hom.diploma here (I guess I was so mistaken because 1. I had little time at the moment and ASSUMED I knew what you wrote 2.they just sent a brochure about this course- for 2000 dollars you will learn what you might learn yourself by READING!)

Sorry about that.

Now back to reading (by the way as soon as she replies I'll let you know--I asked her though to take her time and be sure. I believe she graduated from homeopathic college in India).

Astra2012 last decade
Ok Astra,
Have been searching thru and have been unable to find diploma course in India. I would also prefer books to read n will see at B. Jain website.
Sulphur Iodatum which potency and what frequency. My sugar also is still high 256 PP and what do you advise about the medicines I've been taking?
Maya

maya_hari last decade
Hello Maya,
I buy most of my homeopathic books in New Delhi-either from B.Jain or from Aggarwal Book Centre. Much greateer selection than here.

Very reliable. (so is this lady dr -since she takes her time I'm sure she wants to be certain of the remedy).

My recommendations were:
1. Arnica (ailment after surgery) 1M (quite high as it was long ago, but not very high as you need to take it every day once a day 3 pellets at least 1/2 hr after eating and after your medicine)
for a month or until any reaction, whichever comes first.

2. sulphur iodatum 30c liquid.

every day you will succuse the original remedy 10-12 times(pound it against some book, or palm, or thigh etc),
(if it has dropper make sure it is mixed) add 3-5 drops to about 1/4 glass of water. Mix and drink half of it at least 1/2 hr after breakfast and first round of medicine.

At least 1/2 hr after supper and last medicine mix it again and drink the rest.

Every therapy and every medicine is based on feedback-depending on the results we know that something is working or not.
When the sugar went to 140 what did you do?

Astra2012 last decade
Maya: I do remember you-just have no reply.
Please post how you are doing?

Astra2012 last decade
Astra, I too have not been able to buy the medicines as have been quite busy. Will get them within a day or 2. Can the Arnica be taken at bedtime around 2 hrs after dinner ans not 30 mins after meals.

maya_hari last decade
Of course it can. 2 hrs after eating is better than 1/2 hr (which is a standard).
The idea is to keep all your body mechanisms focused on healing not digestion.
That's why you can drink pure water during that time - it doesn't require digestion.

Astra2012 last decade
Hello Maya

I went through you case and will go back and spend some more time on it.

I believe all symptoms suggest that the problem is neurological. I think it is unnessary to focus upon symptoms which are too many and complex and you have a very complicated medical history. I won't recommend you to stop any other english treatment.

For the start you try to obtain lowest potency of Nux Vomica. Let me know what is the lowest potency you can obtain. Nux Vomica in the lowest potency is a hit on the nerves.

Or try to obtain Nux Vomica nuts from Herbs specialists. All you need just 50 gms nuts. I will give you further instructions once you tell me the lowest available potency or if you can get raw nuts.

Take care.
