Aversion to red meat
Aggravated by milk +++ (stomach pains, flatulence, diarrhoea)
Very big appetite - always has food with her, eats continually
Headaches unless she eats every 2-4 hours
Hungry at 930-1000 am

Very heavy sleeper
< after a nap in the afternoon (staph)
Snore very loudly
Need sheets up around the neck (?)
Dreams of vampires going to bite me

Vampires +++ - has a cross to protect herself above the bed, when walking down a dark street imagines there are vampires around her

Supernatural - spirits ++

Darkness ++

Someone breaking into the house and attacking her - < if husband is away at night - she must lock the house to feel safe

Big fear of the dark+++
Always believed in ghosts
Felt someone was in the room with her, that someone would tap her on the back
Slept with light on till she was 10
She would see shapes of people in the dark

Indecisive - esp. making appointments
Controlling of partner - he lets her make most of the decisions
Haven’t grown up yet - not yet an adult
Very close to parents, haven’t broken away from them yet
Relied more on her parents as she has gotten older
Always seek their approval for things
Very confident at work - try very hard, to do everything right

What is your greatest fear?

Have started studying law twice and have quite twice
Would get top marks in everything else.
So scared of not passing the exams, would quit before I could possibly fail
Throw in the towel when it becomes difficult
Have never done an exam - always quite before them

Analysis of the Case

From a traditional mental prescribing perspective, the rubrics might have looked like this:

Fear of the dark
Fear when alone at night
Fear of failure
Fear of ghosts at night (acon, ars, carb-v, chin, chinin-ar, cocc, lyc, phos, puls, ran-b, sulph)
Craves chocolate
Craves tomatoes
Craves spices
Milk aggravates

So I could choose between Sulphur or Phosphorous, with phosphorous probably being my first choice.

But the answer to the last question struck me as peculiar, and not what I would have expected from a Phosphorous person. So I chose to give it more weight, and interpreted it from another perspective.

Fear of failure, fear of exams = Ferrum series
Quits just before the final exam = Stage 9
Hasn’t quite grown up yet = Stage 9
Not yet (Stage 9)an adult (Ferrum series)

What are the features belonging to the Metal group?

Injuries from Kick BOXING
Fear of someone ATTACKING her

What are the features here of the Iron series that lead me away from Phosphorous (which is part of the Silicum series)?

Catches whatever goes around at WORK
IRON deficient anemia
Needs sheets up around the neck (PROTECTION)
Has a cross on her wall to PROTECT herself
Fear of someone breaking in (THIEVES)
Must lock the house to feel SAFE
Fear of GHOSTS

One of the main themes of the Iron series is PROTECTION. For Phosphorous to be the remedy here, the themes would be Communication, Love and hate, Contact, Friendship, Learning etc.

Prescription = Cobolt metallicum 200, 1 dose

Follow-up#1 (4 weeks later)

Had a strange OBE - like she was on drugs
Sciatic nerve became very painful - very severe pinching, could hardly walk
Periods came early - the worst pains she has ever had
Very heavy flow
Became quite exhausted, had to get to bed straight away
Very sad and miserable, burst into tears at little things
This aggravation lasted 4 days

Felt an energy inside her
Felt bullet-proof
Felt really high
Has been immune to the current flu going around the office
Feels more relaxed
Able to make decisions easily now - even big ones about her life
No longer so worried about failure
Feels more confident
Feels like she has stepped out of her old body and into a new one
This body has no fears - she no longer fears the dark, vampires, ghosts, or being alone.
PMS is gone - none at all this time
Menstrual flow very light, no pain, sensitive breasts is gone
Sciatica is gone

Prescription = let run

Patient needed a single redose of Cobolt 200 6 months later, and has been well again for the last 10years with no immunity problems or menstrual symptoms. She went back to college and finished her Law degree. She has been a good source of referrals for me
