UTI clear but frequent urination still there

Hi, I am 29year old female and was diagnosed with cystitis on 14th August 2009 after a painful intercourse. My urine tested positive for blood and leucocytes.I had abdominal pain and burning while peeing. The doctors precribed antibiotic trimethoprim which helped ease abdominal pain and burning while peeing. But frequent urination won`t go. The doctors precribed Nofloxacin thinking infection was not gone and it din`t help with the urination. My urine test came clear of infection but had 46mm leucocytes, 4mm RBC and 4mm Epithelial cells, pH of urine is normal- 7. I had been told that my bladder is still irritable and inflammation will take 4-6 weeks to go. I was precribed Tolteridine for the urge to urinate, no help.
Now if I drink water sip by sip it helps control urge. Also I drink every 21/2 hrs (150ml). However, as soon as I drink, within 30 min I can feel the urge to urinate and have to go within an hr or 2 and even when my bladder is incompletely full. I have no burning sensation in urethra. Can you please advice a homeopthic medicine that can help control urge to urinate.
Thanks
P

Please take three doses of Thuja 200c thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours on a day. The medicine is to be taken only one day not daily.
Please report after 15 days.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Thanks Dr Kadwa, I will get back to you in 15 days

Just wanted to ask I had been taking Cantharis 30C twice a day as advised by another homeopathic Dr for the same problem since 3 days, does that work the same way as Thuja? Or should I wait for another week and see if there is any improvement with Canthris? I will be highly grateful for your advice.

You may wait for another week and come back with the following information instead of taking thuja.
Please copy the Questionnaire from the following thread

and post all the questions here duly answered. On that basis your remedy will be reviewed.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
I suffered from cystitis after a painful intercourse on August 14th 2009. I suffered from pain while peeing and also pain in the abdomen. After which I was prescribed antibiotics Trimethoprim. The Dr. also asked me to drink as much fluid as possible every 1 hour or so. I was needing to pee every 10 minutes during day and night. The antibiotics did help subside the pain while peeing but the problem of peeing every 10 minutes did not go away. The Dr thought the infection was still there and prescribed more antibiotics- Norfloxacin, but did not help. The urine was pH 7, no infection but did have 40mm WBC, 4mm RBC and 4mm epithelial cells. Also I was getting a pus like discharge- white colour every day and the Dr. said it was inflamed/ irritated bladder and prescribed tolteridine- an antispasmodic that did not help. Every time I drank a glass of water, I could feel the urge to go to the toilet every 10 minutes, but without anything coming. With weeks, I started drinking water every 2-3 hours and limited water intake to 100-150 ml instead of a big glass of 200-250ml and sipped water rather than gulping water. This helped control the urge, Also now I try to hold on and let the bladder fill but this sometimes causes abdominal pain. But I still feel the urge every 30 mins after drinking water and then keep feeling it unless I go and empty my bladder even if it is not very full. I have to go every 11/2 hr if I drink water and can wait upto 2-3 hrs if I don’t drink water. Also pus –like discharge from urethra is still there and my urine is bright yellow in the morning and late night. During the day, when I drink fluids it is pale yellow- normal colour. Also sometimes, when I have pus, I can see white particles in the urine.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
After I started antibiotics I had a painful back ache especially on the left side travelling downwards to the hips. It is still there but is much less than the ache that I had with antibiotics. I also suffer from mild IBS. It flares up when I eat oily/ spicy foods/ lentils and milk. I avoid the three foods and restrict my diet- to whole meal, lots of vegetables and boiled foods that helps me.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Early morning and late night. I get irritated when I am woken up at night to go and pee. I wake up approximately twice every night to pee. Sometimes bladder full gives me pain in the abdomen that wakes me and sometimes it is the urge, even when bladder is not completely full it wakes me up. The urge is worse lying down and less when I am walking or sitting.

If you are not getting any relief from Cantharis you may do the following.

On the basis of your symptoms the homeopathic remedy thuja or sepia may work for you. You may also be benefitted by using tissue salts.

i suggest

day 1
Please take three doses of Sepia 200c thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours

day 2 to day 15
please take 2 pellets each of the following tissue salts thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours.
Mag Phos 6x
Natrum Sulph 6x

If you do not find sufficient relief after 15 days, you should take thuja 200c and follow it up with the tissue salts as explained already.

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I have seen a little benifit from Cantharis. I could only drink 1 cup of water earlier, if I would drink a glass, I would have to rush to the toilet. But after4 days of Cantharis, I can drink sip by sip one glass now and need to go to the toilet only in 11/2 hrs-2 hrs. The urge is however, still there but a bit milder than before. I will try Cantharis for a week.If that is OK. Also, can I try the tissue salts with Cantharis?
In addition, do I need to take Thuja/ Sepia only for 1 day or for the whole 15 days with the salts?

You have to decide depending on your symptoms.

Also, can I try the tissue salts with Cantharis?
It is better not to take the homeo remedy and the tissue salts on the same day.

In addition, do I need to take Thuja/ Sepia only for 1 day or for the whole 15 days with the salts?
Yes.
