Accutane and many health issues

Hello,

I took Accutane when I was 17 and I am now 29. About ten days into taking my Accutane treatment, I began having classic symptoms of skin reddening, chapped lips and dry skin. The symptoms have generally not changed over time and I still deal with them today. Over the course of several years after stopping Accutane, my hair thinned out diffusely. It always falls out at the root with a bulb on the end. It still falls out like this today.

Something I have noticed is that I have a certain intolerance to Vitamin A. If I consume food high in Vitamin A, then I will not sleep at night. I have hypoglycemia as well and that seems to improve significantly with Vitamin A, but then I will not sleep.

I have been to two homeopaths and have seen no improvement at all from their treatments. I have also tried homeopathic Accutane in 12x, 6c, 12c, 15c, 30c, 200c and 1m dosages with no effect. If you can give me any advice, I am all ears.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?

Accutane side effects (very dry skin; red, irritated skin; diffuse falling hair that falls out at the root with a bulb on the end; inability to sleep after consuming Vitamin A)

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

Difficulty sleeping. A tingling, tight feeling in my ankles, calves, wrists and between the shoulder blades when I do not eat for about three to four hours. It goes away when I eat. Vitamin A seems to make this feeling go away, but then I cannot sleep at night.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

The sadness of feeling that I am perpetually in this situation of sleep difficulty and Accutane side effects for the rest of my life. Anger at my naivety at the time for taking Accutane. Fear that my upcoming marriage will put me in a situation that will make this situation much worse. A desire to want to stop the clock of my life so I can recover or to just give up if recovery is not possible.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

It is usually when I do not sleep, but I feel like I just want out of my situation and I just want to give up. Sadness that I have missed out on a lot of freedom that I do not currently have due to health issues.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

The Accutane side effects began about 10 days into taking Accutane when I was 17. I took the drug for 6 months at 60 mg per day and the hair loss happened gradually over several years time after stopping the drug. The worst of it happened in spurts over several weeks time when I was about 20 and swimming regularly in chlorinated pools. The insomnia started when I was 24 and I was beginning to consume food high in Vitamin A. I did not make the connection of the Vitamin A and sleep for about a year.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

In the morning when I do not sleep.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Sleeping well makes most symptoms better and not sleeping aggravates the Accutane symptoms. Chlorine makes the dry skin and hair falling symptoms worse. Consuming certain fats (olive oil and animal fat) seem to help the dry skin slightly.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

Stress and excitement make the sleep worse. Sex makes the redness much worse. Most of these symptoms are consistent regardless of the environment.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

I feel that heat makes the skin redness, dryness and irritation worse. I like humid and cool environments. If I wash my hair with moisturizing shampoo, my scalp has many layers of skin come off of it.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
I am never offended; I like to avoid arguments as much as possible; I am lazy and tend to procrastinate; I become angry when my efforts to stabilize myself have become disrupted; I am rarely jealous; I generally do not care about decisions unless I know it will effect my sleep

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
I do not feel much about them. Maybe a little excited before and during. Very loud piercing thunder gives me an adrenaline rush.
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
Yes
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Very sensitive.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
I talk to myself constantly.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
I generally love my family. I have a lot of anger for my future wife as I do not feel that she understands my situation or wants to try to help. I fear the stress of our relationship as I feel that it makes dealing with my situation worse. I have a similar, but less severe anger towards my parents who I always feel are trying to trivialize my situation.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

My main fear is that my upcoming marriage that involves the two of us moving in together will make my sleep and stress much worse. I do dream a lot, but I cannot recall anything repeated.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

Usually sour, salty or fatty foods. I generally do not like very sweet things.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Thirst is occasionally excessive at night.

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Hunger is almost always less, but I still eat consistently to make the previously described tingling feeling go away.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

I have a lot of trouble sleeping if I eat: raw onions, mustard, yogurt, very spicy food and foods high in Vitamin A

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

I sometimes sweat at night generally around my neck and shoulders.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

Loose. Undigested food particles. I do not digest fat well.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

It is very easy to aggravate my sleep. Usually with food or stress. When I sleep well, I fall asleep on my back, but when I wake up about 3-4 hours later, I switch to my side. I might wake up 1-3 more times per night and I usually alternate sides when I wake up.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

No. I have very little energy for it and it effects the quality of my sleep.

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body?

The tingling, tight feeling in my ankles, calves, wrists and between the shoulder blades when I do not eat for about three to four hours. It goes away when I eat.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

Only hydrocortisone. It improves my sleep noticeably.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

Heart disease, diabetes.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.

I am 5'10' and weigh about 170. I am generally thin, but I can put on a very slight amount of weight around my waist. My hair is brown with some white hairs. I look about my age but tired in general. My skin has a very obvious redness.

I should also add that I have a fear of aging too fast. I am not afraid of getting old. It is just seeing myself age at an abnormal rate.

Even though this post was several years ago I'm answering in case you or anyone else reads it and could benefit.

It may be that you didn't go high enough in potency for accutane. It might be best to see a Field Control Therapist who can test to see which potency your body needs. I was tested with FCT and given a 50M potency. I have only taken it once and am not better but I need to be tested again to see if I still need the same dose.

The other thing you can do is try a product called RNA drops. With accutane you've lost the correct blueprint to your cells and these RNA drops allegedly correct your blueprint. I haven't heard of it used for accutane toxicity but it has a lot of success with all manner of health problems apparently surpassing stem cell therapy. I haven't tried it yet because I haven't finished experimenting with homeopathic accutane. You can buy the RNA drops from Dr Carolyn Dean's website rnareset. Hope this helps. I'd be interested to hear back from anyone who tries the RNA drops.
