Brother with Schizophrenia
Hi all, just looking for a bit of advice if you dont mind me popping in. My brother has been suffering with Schizophrenia for the last 9 years and has been in and out of hospital for that time too. He relapses by not taking his meds and its back into the hospital again for him. I went to a wonderful homeopath this time last year for post natal depression and i felt so good after it. I was thinking of sending my brother to the same woman and see if she could help him. Do you know can he still take his medication and also take homeopathy remedies at the same time? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated as im at my wits end with it all and would love to see him managing his illness and getting on with his life. Thanks.Meriv on 2009-11-17
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
of course he can take homeopathic medicines along with his treatment. homeopathic treatment in schizophrenia will focuses on easing his presenting symptoms.it will help him cope with his pathological condition.so u can go ahead and start with a homeopathic treatment as well.

Ah thats great to know, he is in hospital at the moment after relapsing again. How long do you think i should bring him to the homeopath after he come out? Dont want to bring him too early in case he isnt fully stable yet.

It would take a detailed case taking with all information about his past medical history and family history etc. the doctor might give him medicines for acute relapses and for his constitutional requirements. this he would have to continue for months. you can take him to the homeopath after he is stable and discharged from the hospital . did i answer your question?
