Reflux in throat and mouth after 2 week use of pepcid ac and ambien

Hello everyone thanks for looking at this. About three weeks ago I was on a oral steroid (prednisone) and anti viral (acyclovir) treatment for about a week. My doctor told me to take pepsid ac with these as they are hard on your stomach. After stopping the pills I noticed I was still having an uneasy stomach so I kept taking the pepcid ac.

At this point I couldn't sleep because my tinnitus was so loud (original problem), so my doctor prescribed ambiem. I would notice everyday at noon I would get nausia and chest pains with gas, this would last for hours. The pepcid ac which I was still taking was not doing anything. I decided,it must be the ambien doing this to me. After only three nights on it I decided not to take it on sunday night.

Sunday night I had horrible indigestion, with chest pains, gas, and after couple hours turning to flatulence. This was all 3 hours after supper which was a chicken breast and green beans. On monday my mouth, throat, tongue, and even lips were burning. I assumed it must still be acid comming up, as evertime I breathed my lips would burn. Throughout the day I tried everything to stop the burning including; pepcid ac, antacids, milk, vinager, salt water, baking soda, club soda, almonds, celery, honey, and none of these worked.

On Tuesday it continued so I went to see a doctor. Because of the white acid burns in my mouth, and the fact I was on Steroids for a week, she thought it could also be a candida outbreak, but also acid. She gave me a prescription for Nystatin (antifungal) and said to try prilosec for the reflux and also to ask my ent about it. I saw my ent the next day and he said it didn't look like candida at all.

I have changed my diet to a combination of a reflux diet and a candida diet but I still get the burning in the throat. Its not as bad, probably because I'm eating less food, but I still get it about 2 to 3 hours after eating. I started taking digestive enzymes before each meal along with a probotic supplement and yogurt. I also bought some of those acid test strips. I have tested many times, my Saliva is 6.5 and my urine is always 5.5 which is quite acidic.

I read online that low stomach acid can cause reflux, but yet wonder with my high urine ph if that is my problem? I bought some hcl to raise my stomach acid to see if thats the problem, but I've been afraid to take it. Maybe its going to take more that a couple days to get my digestive system back on track to where I don't get reflux. I stopped taking the pepsid ac, wednesday being the last time. I also tried taking some aloe vera, but it didn't agree with me. I think maybe it was the citric acid in it, or that I squeezed a lemon into it. I heard lemons are good for lowering acid and good for candida. I have never had this burning in my mouth or throat before. What else can I do, or am I on the right track already?

Thanks for the reply Doctor Abhishek. I tried for the past week to treat this with diet by eating only non acid fruits and veggies, but I still get the burning in my throat two hours after I eat. I couln't find any information on R-5 is, and the nat phos 6x is that just a phospherous supplement that I might be able to find at a nutrition store.

I just started taking prilosec as I am desparate to end this, and don't want to burn out the valve that stops the gas from coming into my throat. Can I mix this with those supplements. Thanks again.

I notice that Abishek has not responded to your request for instructions and presume that he is not on the Internet, perhaps on holiday since April 23. He has prescribed the correct remedy, Nat Phos 6x and you will take 4-5 tablets after every meal and also add Arnica 30c in the Wet dose which you will take twice daily. Please follow the instructions below to make the Wet dose:

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.

If you would like to have more information on cases of GERD (Gastro Esophagal Reflux Disease) which is your ailment right now, you can type this word into the Search Box on the Home page of this forum and read the many cases that have been helped by these 2 remedies.

It is understood that you will STOP all other drugs when you start on my therapy.

I humbly request you to come out of the shackles of allopathic medicines and try homeopathic medicines without keeping a doubt for cure as i am 110 % confident that homeopathy will cure you faster than the Allopathic treatment you are taking just know.

Hope i made it clear, for permanent cure choose homeopathy.

THanks for the answers doctors. Just one more question on that anica, I add three drops to the bottle and thats it. I don't add any more to the bottle until its empty. Or do I add three drops each time I take a capfull, but I would think that the mixture would get stronger as I used up the water. Thanks again.

I was looking for the arnica in the store on this site. Is that 'arnica montana radix', or is it 'arnica montana'. Is this the same thing as R-5. I still don't know what the functions of these medications is. I also started taking dgl and thats helping. Thanks for your help again.

Dear David A ,arnica & R 5 are both different remedies,pl decide to go with one of them and don't start both at same time.

Thanks.
