Itching, scaly skin/ icthyosis/ stress/ hairfall/ weight loss. Please Help!!
Hello doctors,I am a 33-year-old woman. I am having a very distressing skin disorder. I have been using Betnovate (betamethasone) for the past 14 years. It was helping me a lot, but when I stop it, the eruptions would break out then and there. So, I decided to have a permanent cure for the disorder so stopped Betnovate and saw a homeopath in October 2009 at which time I was having a little itchy eruptions in my both legs He first treated me with sulphur, after a week with graphites, then with a single dose of an unknown medicine. Then, gave Biochemic tablets for a month. With all these, I had vigorous aggravation with lots of eruptions, oozing out honely like liquid, terrible itching, stinging pain, hard dry scabs, intermittent fevers. He advised me to use Calendula ointment which gave unbearable burning, so I did not continue. Then, he stopped all the medicines and told me to use Betnovate. I used it for a month and stopped. Though it gave great relief, I still had small eruptions and itching on and off. So, he stopped Betnovate and started me with Natrum Mur. After taking it for a month now, the symptoms are worse again. I am so distressed and anxious now. I need the expertise advice here in this forum and please help me cure my disease.
Following informations to help you diagnose and prescribe:
1. Now, the eruptions and patches covered with hard scabs located inside both thighs and lower legs, oozes some egg-smelling honey like fluid after scratching or friction. Stinging pain. (earlier, these were on both breasts and legs. Now, only on legs)
2. Worse during midday, heat of bed, warm water.
3.cold water bath relieves the itching for sometime.
4.Sound sleep, 1230-630. Occasional bad dreams.
5. Sensitive to criticism, touch, cold.
6. Stressed, anxious, teary sometimes.
7. Foods do not make better or worse.
8. Wheezng when in hilly area, but got cured with Ayurvedha. Dust and pollen allergies, get sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion.
9. No medicinal reactions. Caterpiller causes acute urticaria.
10. As mentioned above.
12. Icthyosis (hereditary), hair thinning/fall for the past 2 years after marriage, no children yet.

If your 'skin disorder' is Eczema, the remedy that I have prescribed in hundreds, perhaps thousands of cases is:
Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily. This remedy may also be applied directly on the lesions on your body as often as is possible for best effect.
Please follow the instructions below precisely.
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:
Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.
The last sentence of your post reads:
'Icthyosis (hereditary), hair thinning/fall for the past 2 years after marriage, no children yet.'
If your diagnosis is indeed correct the chances of Arnica or any other remedy helping you are slim as yours is a genetic problem but it would be interesting to discover how you respond to Arnica 5c in the manner that I have detailed above.

Treatments for ichthyosis often take the form of topical application of creams and emollient oils, in an attempt to hydrate the skin. Retinoids are also used for some conditions. Exposure to sunlight may improve or worsen the condition.
There can be ocular manifestations of ichthyosis, such as corneal and ocular surface diseases. Vascularizing keratitis, which is more commonly found in congenital keratitis-ichythosis-deafness (KID), may worsen with isotretinoin therapy.

Dear Dr.Joe, Thanks a lot for your reply. Are CH and C denote same potencies? I've seen 30CH,200CH, 1000CH bottles (Bakson or SBL). Is 6C available with the same manufactures? I will try to find out and get back to you doctor. (I have Arnica Montana 30CH liquid with me now.)
What is Spring Water? Should Arnica 6C only be used with Spring Water? Normal filtered water cannot be used for this?
Note: I forgot to mention one important point, i.e., these eruptions started immediately after the chickenpox in 1996.
Hairfall: I was having thick, long hairs till 20-year-old, and I was very chubby. I got a job and moved to a new place in 1996, that is when hairfall and weight loss happened. I strongly doubt stress and anxiety alongwith bad diet are the culprits. Hairfall and weight loss are worse in the past 2 yrs after my marriage wherein I am having lot of stress.
I am using Dr.VcMally's Arnikesh oil and Bakson's Sunny Arnica Shampoo (once in a week when applying oil)for the past 7 months.
Icthyosis: It is in a mild form now (was bad when in hillstations), only at a small portion of lower shins.
What is Spring Water? Should Arnica 6C only be used with Spring Water? Normal filtered water cannot be used for this?

YOU MAY USE ANY WATER AS LONG AS IT IS FREE OF IMPURITIES AND OF CHLORINE.
The Arnica will help with your loss of hair and you will also have to use a 5% emulsion of Arnica Q mixed into Olive oil which you will use to massage the hair roots daily.
You can also take any Fish oil capsule daily.
You can safely stop all other medication you are using today.
