tracheal stenosis

About 1.5 months back i was intubation due to hepatitis E and liver failure for 9 days since I was in Coma . After 9 days everything worked fine and I went to ward from ICU and then returned home . After 10 days I started getting problems breathing and visited several allopathic doctors where they misdiagnosed my problem as 'asthmatic bronchitis' . Later upon conducting 'pulmonary function test' it was clear there is some serious blockage somewhere which is making problems. After that XRAY , CT Scan and bronchoscopy was performed which stated that there is a problem with the treachea . Below are the reports of XRAY , CT and Bron.

Other General Info:
Gender: Male
Age: 19

XRAY CHEST: ( CHEST PA VIEW--PNS IM VIEW-- )
*Hilar markings are prominent
*Chest cage is normal
*Lungs have normal radiolucency in all zones
*Costophrenic angles are clear
*Domes of the diaphragm normal
*Mediastinum is normal in width
*Heart size is normal

CT Scan ( Chest and Neck )
*Short segment of smooth tracheal narrowing measuring 2.9 x 0.7 x 0.4 cm in craniocaudal, AP and transverse dimension.
*no intraluminal filling defect seen.
*The tracheal stenosis most likely appear due to Post Intubation Trauma.
*Thickening in the region of voc al cord on left side bulging into the laryngeal lumen causing its narrowing as described above.
*Normal appearing lung.
*Would recommend clinical correlation and follow up.

*BRONCHOSCOPY
*Vocal Cord: Normal
*Trachea : 3 cm below vocal cord there was stenosis with surrounding granulation tissues.

Now the allopathic doctors/surgeons are advising me to do a operation of the trachea where they would remove the 1.5cm area of trachea which is swollen and would then rejoin the 2 parts. At the moment I am using homeopathic medicines to heal things up however I would like to get opinions from homeopaths here on these forums regarding this issue . Is this thing curable using homeopathic medicines?? or I should go for the surgery .

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I was very concerned to read your report that at age 19 you suffered from the after effects of Hepatitis Type E and that you now suffer from a breathing difficulty which I believe was caused by some damage to your Trachea due to the inserting of the various instruments used to help you to breathe without which assistance you may have succumbed.

My diagnosis of an injury is based on your report which reads:

'Trachea : 3 cm below vocal cord there was stenosis with surrounding granulation tissues. '

This depth is exactly the length that the tube inserted into the Trachea will reach to enable you to breathe. If this can be proved, you may consider the possibility of filing for damages against your hospital as you live in the US and hospitals are cover by Insurance against this form of accidental injury.

I am copying below some information on Hepatitis E from Wikipedia which is of interest:
Epidemiology
The incidence of hepatitis E is highest in juveniles and adults between the ages of 15 and 40. Though children often contract this infection as well, they less frequently become symptomatic. Mortality rates are generally low, for Hepatitis E is a “self-limiting” disease, in that it usually goes away by itself and the patient recovers. However, during the duration of the infection (usually several weeks), the disease severely impairs a person’s ability to work, care for family members, and obtain food. Hepatitis E occasionally develops into an acute severe liver disease, and is fatal in about 2% of all cases. Clinically, it is comparable to hepatitis A, but in pregnant women the disease is more often severe and is associated with a clinical syndrome called fulminant hepatic failure. Pregnant women, especially those in the third trimester, suffer an elevated mortality rate from the disease of around 20%.

Although there is one serotype of this virus, four distinct genotypes have been reported. Genotypes 1 and 2 are restricted to humans and often associated with large outbreaks and epidemics in developing countries with poor sanitation conditions. Genotypes 3 and 4 infect humans, pigs and other animal species and have been responsible for sporadic cases of hepatitis E in both developing and industrialized countries.

Surgery is the last resort as it may also lead to other more serious complications that can be permanent and which are best avoided for the moment.

Arnica is a remedy that I have used extensively in my practice and the reason I am prescribing it to you is that it has some Miraculous effect of curing injury such as yours which has resulted after surgical misadventure, in this case due to the obvious injury to your Trachea which resulted from the breathing tube used to keep you alive in the ICU.

Please follow the instructions given below on making the Wet dose of Arnica 30c precisely and report your response in a week.

Order the Arnica 30c in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose which you will take thrice daily.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.

Thanks for the reply, I will try this medicine , I have been searching around on the internet and I wonder why my current homeopath has recommended me 'Lachesis 30', I have been using this for about 2 weeks now but no gain . I think Lachesis 30 is more focused towards treatment of voicebox and all that upper area where my area is down there in trachea . Also I want to ask one question , I have been using allopath Inhalers

1)Ventolin ( Salbutamol ) - By GlaxoSmithKline

2)Seretide ( Salmeterol + Fluticasone propionate ) - By GlaxoSmithKline

Can I use these inhalers along with homeopath medicines ?

Did you suffer from Asthma prior to your catching Hepatitis ?

Do the two Inhalers give you any relief ?

If your answer is in the affirmative and you suffer from Asthma, I can prescribe two remedies one of which will hopefully cure Asthma.

However I do not think that you suffer from Asthma as it is more likely that you suffer from a surgical misadventure for which I have already advised a course of action for you.

Thanks for the rapid reply,
No I don't suffer from Asthma , these were prescribed to me earlier . Actually trecheal stonosis is normally misdiagnosed as asthama thats why the allopathy doctors recommended me .

I want to ask how effective is Lachesis 30 in curing my problem ?

You will have to ask your homeopath this question.

I presume that he has his reasons for prescribing it and if you do get an answer I shall be interested to learn his reply.

I cannot understand the reason why you were prescribed the inhalers when your doctors obviously were aware that you did not suffer from Asthma. The 2 drugs in the inhalers will only work inside the lungs and I am very surprised indeed that your doctors are all that foolish to prescribe a drug which they are aware is completely useless and what is more surprising is that they can cause you more damage and harm than what they have already inflicted on you at your age of 19 years.

This is the type of situation that makes me very angry as instead of atoning for their sins in being the cause of your present tracheal problem, your doctors continue to inflict further damage to your Trachea with the steroidal inhalers which cannot possibly provide you any relief.

Hi

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you took the Arnica remedy as you were advised, and if so, was it beneficial to you?

I also have tracheal stenosis and I'm trying to find a solution as I'm trying to avoid having surgery.

Thank you

thats my old ID . I am posting from my new one

Things became worst , I would recommend to all people not to depend on medicines if there is a risk of life . There came a time when my trachea became almost closed and I was taken to emergency for a tracheotomy surgery for survival . I underwent surgery for tracheal reconstruction in the biggest hospital we have here and that went failed . Following that I had to undergo major tracheal reconstruction surgery in some other country due to the fact there here surgeons were not capable to perform that surgery .

How did you get tracheal stenosis ? At what level is that and how severe ? There are sprays for that purpose but that wasn't very much of benefit , I ultimately had to go with all this . If you need any help in this regard please let me know as I have experienced this

Thank you so much for your email. I'm really sorry you had to go through all of that.
I've been experiencing shortness of breath for more or less 7 years. They are not sure why. I had a tonsillectomy when I was 20 (that is 19 years ago), so they are not sure if it could've been that as too many years had gone by.

About the spray you mentioned. What is it for? It seems to be for people who have some lung difficulties, but do you know how it can help someone with tracheal stenosis?

In any case I really hope you're doing really well now. Thanks again.

Your case is different then , it seems to be a case of idopatic tracheal stenosis .

In my case it was physical injury and it was sure that the airway will get blocked to 99% at one time , happened in couple of weeks .

You might want to get your CT scan done inorder to see where the blockage is - I am sure you have done this . The spray I mentioned was for airway and lungs , in total it was for breating problems but please note that this is not like ventolin that you can put randomly . The doctors advised me twice a day ( 2 times spray - twice in a day ) .

I would recommend you try homyopathy for some time as I dont think your would get blocked the way it happened to me as you have been having this for 7 years . There is a group on facebook named as Tracheal stenosis and there were couple of patients like you who never knew where this came from ( mine was injury ) . One lady i communicated with had the same problem and that was idopatic and she got it operated , I am not sure how is it going for her but I had communicated with her after surgery and she was fine . Its called 'Tracheal reconstruction' . If you want to go for surgery I can advise more , there is a guy from India who has done more than 350 tracheal reconstruction ( maximum in asia ) and he was a fine surgeon - I got operated from him , he has his own hospital for such surgeries and they are cheap if you cant afford in any western country .

I would recommend you join that facebook group where you can communicate with same people for advises .

Thanks for asking , I am doing fine :)

Hi, memocast ! I see this is an old post but I was wondering whether you could provide the contact-details of the 'Tracheal reconstruction' surgeon in India, about whom you have talked in your post above.

Hi memocast,

My mother is also suffering from sub-gloatic traheal stenosis. Can you please share the details of the surgeon in India who has done 325 tracheal reconstruction.

Thanks
