Infant Sleeping

Any assistance you can offer in helping my 9.5 month old sleep better is greatly appreciated. A few things to note:
*We co-sleep with a side car crib
*He is nursed to sleep and 90% of the time needs to be nursed back to sleep
*He goes to bed between 7 and 8PM and wakes between 6-7am although this morning it was 5am.
*90% of the time he wakes 30-60minutes after initially falling asleep
*occasionally wakes with night terrors. likely to happen when he hasn't napped well during the day.
*wakes multiple times a night. Waking 3-4 times is a good night. He usually wakes ever 2 hours or so. I'm excited when he goes 3 hours.
*for the past month he's been napping twice a day instead of three times. He naps from 45minutes to 2 hours with 1.25-1.5 being the average.
*he's very active at home. When awake he's going non-stop
*shy in public
*he's crawling and climbs up on everything
*he's very verbal
*no interest in sitting and watching TV or anything like that.
*we know energetically he's very busy and our family container had to be expanded 4 times to accommodate him.
*valerium helps get him to sleep but has no affect on sleep patterns
*Serenite Jr. by Native Remedies has had no effect.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is any other information that would be helpful. Any guidance you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Dear reikimom, though its not appropriate to take medicines for sleep in such small baby,if its bothering you give one dose 2 pills of chamomilla 30c only once,& Kali phos 6x , 1 tab 2 times a day dissolved in mother's milk or water.

Another point to note...he's a great eater. 23lbs at 9 months old.

What do you deem an appropriate age to introduce something to help sleep better?

Dear reikimom, appropriate age to introduce something to help sleep can't be justified,my thinking is that medicines are for diseases ,we should not be depended on them for each and every small complains of our & our family ,i don't say to neglect problems but nature takes care of child and during his growing phase he will go through number of changes which will make his body & mind develop. this is a general view & for your child, just a general talk.
