Atrial Fibrillation
I hope someone can help me. I am a very healthy, slim, vegetarian female 70yo and I walk daily. I am on thyroid meds (hypothyroid) and about 3 months ago due to a Dr error I went hyperthyroid due to too much T3 and went into atrial fibrillation and was taken to ER. I was put on Nadalol (beta blocker) and low dose aspirin which my cardiologist allowed me to wean off after about 2 weeks. All heart test were good and apparently the high T3 caused the problem. 3am this morning I was awakened with same symptoms :( I still had the nadalol so took a dose and within an hour my heart was back to normal. I have an appt with cardiologist for next week and was told to stay on the 40mg nadalol plus an aspirin. Does anyone have some advice about what I can do naturally to prevent this occurring again, I am so upset as it is not only frightening but disappointing.anneh on 2010-06-30
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You stated:

You refer to a 'Dr Error' and I presume that a gross overdose of the drug was prescribed by your doctor. What is the dosage at which you succumbed to Atrial Fibrillation which as you may have realized is dangerous at your age of 70 years. Do you have your ECG taken when you were in Fibrillation and what is your Pulse rate recorded on it ?
I presume that you were diagnosed some years ago as being Hypothyroid and that you were prescribed a dose of Thyroxin. Please indicate your TSH and T3 levels at the time you were first diagnosed and the drug with the dosage in Micrograms prescribed and for how long you have taken it.
Have you done any tests for Lipid Profile and can you quote your Cholesterol and Triglyceride levels ? What is your Blood Pressure ?
Arnica 30c in the Wet dose has helped patients who have high values of the above which also result in Hypertension. They have reported that their elevated values were normalized in about 6 months.
I would suggest that you too take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose twice daily made precisely as prescribed below:
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made up as follows:
Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also known as Liquid Dilution.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles.
This is homeopathic succussion and must be done every time before a capful of the bottle which is the dose is taken as directed.
Arnica will help to filter your blood and rid it of the debris and cholesterol in your body and you can expect your Blood Pressure to decrease in about 3 months. It will also lower your Cholesterol and Triglycerides and it is recommended that you take a Blood Test before you start this therapy to compare with another taken 6 months later, when the difference will be seen.
I note that you are taking Cardiprin or equivalent to thin the blood and Arnica will do this function far better.

thank you for responding. I had been given a rx for a compound which apparently had too much T3 and I wasn't checked. I have Hashimotos thyroiditis and prior to compound was on Armour 30mg bid which I am back on. Lipid Profile was great, forget triglycerides but was normal and total cholesterol was 140. Have had ECG and Echo etc and heart was good (have MVP but no deterioration)great and pulse too. My systolic bp tends to rise when being taken but averages 130/70. Thanks again for help, hate to think I may have to live on beta blocker or other harmful drug/
