Need relief from odd migraines

Hi. I started migraine headaches when I was about 30. Then I had twins and was o.k. for a few years. Then they returned. I tried taking Imitrex, but it caused weird heart palpitations and side effects. My doc suggested 3 ibuprofen. This helped for awhile. Now, the last 2 years the headaches have turned interesting. I get this odd feeling and then a pain on my right side of my nose where it meets my face (at the top)I can press it and it relieves. I can stretch ,y nostril open slightly and the pain stops. The reason I believe them to migraines of some sort is, I get the same nausea, and anxiety as before. Though the pain is not more than a regular headache and a lot of times my 'head' doesn't ache. Just this pain on my nose followed by me feeling anxious not wanting to face any problems or do anything. I thought it may be hormonal, as I am now 41 and this was happening 2x per month, around ovulation and my menses. But, it has progressed (because of the drugs, I fear) to now 2x per week. I have looked up every headache remedy and nothing seems to work. I tried Irisvers (no relief at all) kali bichrom, sanguanira, even sepia seemed to have my syptoms, but nothing works. Except the prescriptions. Any help appreciated! I am normally on the chilly side. Gelseminum works for me when I feel a bit excited/overwhelmed. I like open air when I get the headaches and like to be left alone.

Nux Vomica may be considered.

Please tell me more about your symptoms, when did this problem start ? What happening in your life at that time ?

What are your fears, anxieties and negative feelings if any ?

Any problems with anger or irritability ?

Any food cravings or aversions ?

General things which make you feel better or worse ( effect of weather , temperature, music, touch, sunlight,....environment..etc)

What are the diseases that run in your family ?

They began about 10 years ago... I was trying to conceive my children, I did result to fertility drugs and IVF to have them.

Fears: I am a pretty positive person, the only time I get 'anxious' or unable to cope, is when I get these odd headache/faceaches.

No problem with anger

Food cravings include chocolate, and carbs, but I control it. I also try to eat as much organic food as possible, never any processed or artificial foods.

General things: Sunny days make me very productive and happy, and cloudy, rainy have the opposite effect. Outdoors always makes me feel better, except right now when it is so hot and steamy, makes me worse. Like to be warm and cuddled.

When I have a headache, I like to be left alone, but not 'alone'.

This pain is on my right side or my nose/face and near eyebrow. headache pain is never very bad, but symptoms of migraine are very much present: sensitive to light, nausea, sometimes diarrhea, and just don't want to deal with anything, or any loud noises.

Diseases in family? My mother has migraines and has had them since she was a young girl. Nothing else really, my blood pressure is always on the low side. Dad has had a minor heart attack, but now ok.

also.. since I am experiencing one now, I am checking symtoms. Better from walking, but not stooping over or head down. I an taking my fingers and pulling right nostril open slightly, this helps a lot, and I see right side is a bit stuffy. No allergies or sinus problems. but when I get a cold my sinuses are affected. no cold now.I also have an ice pack on right side of head and it is helping. Tried a lavender steam, but no help, and seemed to aggravate
with smell.

It seems the more migraine medicine I take, the more I get. This is about 5 this week.

This problem occurs when you are not in sync with your surroundings.
Your mental anguish converts into physical pain and breathing problems.

You probably have difficulty in confronting people.

Take Flower Remedy Agrimony..15 drops in quarter glass of water...three times a day.

Post feed back.

I am not sure about the mental anguish. I have a pretty happy life, though very busy, as I homeschool and run a business from home, but happily married to a supportive husband. I would not say that I have trouble confronting people, though maybe in my younger years,I was quite shy. I am pretty straight forward, tell-it-like it is person, but not rude. I have a choleric temperament, and like to get my way, as it is always the 'right' way :)

Hope this sheds more light on me to help.. I did find ferrum phos as a possible help and have been taking it the last 2 days 3x per day. Today, I felt that off feeling come on and took the Ferrum 6x, and it went away.

Please answer the following:

1./) How easily do you open up with new people ?

2./) your inclination towards ice-creams ?

3./) Do you consider yourself a graceful person ?

May be...ask some one like a brother or a sister or a close friend to evaluate your personality in an unbiased way...you might be in for a surprise.

Each one of us has a dark area about ourselves...about which others know it...and we our selves don't believe it !!

This happens more to people who consider themselves as 'pleasant personalities'.

They are so much concerned about their self image...that they hide their true feelings about others...resulting in suppressed emotions.

Suppressed emotions cause illness.

If you like to get your way...then others are not telling you about their true impressions regarding your behavior.

Your sixth sense is telling your through your migraine ...that something is amiss.
It is telling you not to take things on face value.

If you are loaded with business worries, the headache is frontal...that increases when you bend your head forward and downward, lips are dry, the body refuses to move or accept your commands to move, there is some constipation aswell...Bryonia can help.

See if that is your case...then try a few doses (2 or 3 ) of Bryonia 200 when ever the migraine starts.

Irritability of the mind...specially when the migraine occurs...also points towards the choice of Bryonia.

Hi, I have had a nice week with no migraines, but tonight I am getting one now. Started feeling 'overwhelmed' about 5pm. Now by 7, I have nose pressure and forehead pain.

Answers to your questions:
1) I am pretty good about opening up to new people, but better once I know them a bit. I used to be very shy and would avoid people i didn't know. Now, I find myself talking to strangers in bathrooms!

2)Inclination toward ice cream? I never have been much of an ice cream person, though i do enjoy it. I would prefer chocolate cake.

3)Graceful? Yes, I dancer for many years and did yoga as well. I have a small frame, not real delicate, but medium to small. I am 5ft 3 1/2 and about 125 lbs.

I have been taking Bryonia and Ferrum when I feel the migraine starting and even the day after.

Can this be related to hormones? As, the last migraine I got was during my ovulation and I feel my monthly menses will be here anyday, thus time for another migraine. I have had this pattern for awhile.
Sometimes I think it might be a food or stress, but then on my non-migraine days I do those same things and have even more stresses and no problems!

Thank you for helping :)

About the supressing feelings, I would have to say no. I live my life the way I choose and actually do most things because it is right for me or my family. I don't succumb to mainstream pressures or try to 'keep up' with others. I do put a lot of expectations on myself and I feel I am always 'doing' something or should be. This I am working on through meditation.

Describe your menses cycle and the pecularities of it.

Last year my cycles became irregular, some months the regular 30 day, some about 23 days...I also noticed less cramps and less flow. It seemed to balance out to pretty regular 30 day cycles, except last mo another early period and I believe early again this month, though it hasn't started. My flow has changed to VERY hard for 1 day and then basically finished up in 3-4 days..or last month very slow 8 day flow. All my life I have had regular 30 day cycles, but my Obgyn says this is normal for my age to begin to see some changes, then plateau then more changes.. I am 41.

Take Mag Phos 6x ....4 pills 4 times a day ...for a week.

Update: I started taking the Mag phos, but then ran out and took a week to get it by mail. I received it last Saturday, but on Monday late afternoon got a very bad migraine. It got me so nauseous and in pain, I caved and took a migraine pill. Now, it is Thursday and I woke up with the nose pressure and headache and I still have all the weirdness and it is after lunchtime.
Another odd thing, about 2 weeks ago I started getting this weird crystal-like crust in my right nostril. It has kept on ever since, though I got some saline nose spray a few days ago and it seems to help. It is the same side that I have the pressure/pain. Today's headache symptoms:
list of face pressure and mid-forehead pain/pressure. Relief from ice pack on the top of my head. slight relief from a snack. Dizzy, out of sorts feeling, restless, wanting open air (but too hot outside!)
P.S. My Ovlation was over the lats few days.
I am frustrated, but willing to keep working to find relief.
