Dr Kadwa/ Rishimba - attention pls. Boils on 11 month old

My 11month old daughter has been having lesions for 3 weeks now. It typically starts with a water-filled boil, which busrts to reveal pink ring-worm like lesions which if left unattended keeping growing. Only topical applications of anti-septics doesnot check the growth. Merc Sol has helped dry them but new ones continue to emerge as old ones dry-up.
These have come up as she was getting out of a bad congestion/ cold which lasted almost a month. She has been having Merc Sol on & off for quite some days now...though it does seem the size of boils gets smaller when she on Merc Sol. Does it mean she needs to be on Merc Sol for longer time..she has been Merc Sol 3 a day for last 3 days now. Her constitutional medicine is Calc Carb.
Dr Rishimba - your invaluable guidance has helped her in the past and hoping if you could reply.

In case you are interested in details of what happened over the last month - am attaching link to thread below.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Merc Sol 30c should not be taken regularly for a long time. Please wait for Rishi's response.

Kadwa sir - since we have not received a response from Rishi sir, would you pls take up this case.

Right now only other complaint she has clear watery discharge from the nose, not much but somewhat dribbling - more pronounced from the right nostril. Also more pronounced in evening. It is uncomfortable for her during sleep as she Overall cold has improved in over last 2-3days. Overall cold, cough has been with her on&off since the last 4-5 weeks (since you last advised her calc carb 200c)

one new boil yesterday - much smaller in size (almost like a mosquito bite). So far boils have come on the face (smaller in size), behind the ear, on the limbs, chest.

After some reading, thought Psorinum, Sulphur & lyco would probably work with her. Though also read shouldn't give sulphur after merc sol but before.

Request you to pls guide further.

Regards.

You may wait for few days and give her a higher potency of Merc Sol for only one day and watch the response.

The second option is that you may give her Calc Carb 200 and see how that affects. These skin and other symptoms are also there in calc.

Both these remedies are more indicated in rainy season if other indications are also there.

Kadwa Sir - gave her Mer SOl 200c on Tue Morning. After that there were no more boils. Though her occasional runny nose continued (it was only from right nostril, kind of continuous scant dribble, clear & egg-like, with intermittent copious discharge) - hence gave her once dose lyco yesterday afternoon. Her runny nose stopped by evening. But today morning a new boil came, though much smaller in size (Earlier boils were atleast size of a cent, some bigger). This has been the only one to come since Merc Sol 200. Is it that Lyco interferred with Mer sol and a dose need to be repeated? or to wait & see?

Thanks for your guidance,

regards

Indu,

I am suspecting an allergic component to these boils/blisters.

Do they are painful? or develop pus within it?

Latex allergy may be possible culprit so check for this.

Dr. Rakesh Km Lko last decade
not painful, no pus.

Latex allergy - could it also cause boils on the face?

Indu04 last decade
Yes anywhere and more on contacted site.

This may also responsible for continued/recurrent runny nose too.

Eruption looked me strange (seemingly not due to any common skin diseases and I had not seen any eruption caused by latex in my clinic).

Her nose has stopped with Lyco. Is there a procedure to check for latex allergy - how shd this be done?
Just to add - her father had the same problem when he was 6months old. Was on alopathic treatment..

Indu04 last decade
There is no easy procedure to test latex allergy.

This is a suspicion and the condition is not so severe so you should not go for any test unless for now and can consider if problem persist.

You can consult a dermatologist too. This may helpful as he sees lots of skin patients daily.

Stopping runny nose with Lyco do not rule out latex allergy as this runny nose has tendency to recur very shortly.

Avoiding rubbers around child and avoid banana may prove beneficial.

Thanks for the reply.

After how many days shd Merc Sol 200 be repeated?

Indu04 last decade
After 3-7 days according to situation.

Dr. Rakesh Km Lko last decade
since Mer Sol was given 5 days ago, does it make sense to give another dose? Or since there has been only one boil - to wait before repeating?

Indu04 last decade
If in healing process, you should wait for one or two days, but you should give few more dose of Merc Sol 200C and Merc Sol 1M and possibly after this Sulphur 200C and Sulphur 1M or any other i will tell.

Dr. Rakesh Km Lko last decade
Sure, so would wait.

Just to add though - she gets a bit constipated with Merc sol and I noticed when if I give just one dose of Calc carb after merc sol (the following days that is), constipation is not there..I hope this is fine.

Indu04 last decade
Yes Calc Carb acts good after Merc Sol.

Of note, child may need Calc Carb after Merc Sol 1M and not Sulphur (though in my previous reply said may be given).

Your child seems to be a Calcarea Carb child.
