Rhus tox side effects

I am trying to find some pain relief for my 83 yr old mother who has a severe case of shingles. She has had them for 5 wks and she is still having to take morphine, vicodin and naprosyn to just get a little pain relief.

Once we used rhus tox for fibromyalgia and arthritis pain and within 1-2 times of use it eliminated our pain. But then I read a few days later in one of my alternative letters where it caused a severe side effect but can remember what. Want to give it to her again but afraid. Does anyone know of any adverse side effect of rhus tox?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Glazer more details are required like location of pain, sensation of pain, associated symptoms, cause of the problem, how the problem gets better or worse etc.

The Shingles are from the middle of the chest under the breast in a straight line around to the middle of the back.

Her pain is in the center of the chest in front and above the breast in the chest area and in the middle of the back and originally contained areas of large blisters but are about 75-80% healed. Her pain is sharp stabbing pains along with steady aching. She says it's worse than labor pains.

She is currently on Morphine 15mg up to 4 a day, and Vicodin, plus a Nsaid pain patch called Flector changed every 12 hrs. but yet she still is in tremendous pain. She lays in bed all day and barely eats from the pain. She has lost 13 lbs in one month from the pain.

glazer you didn't mention the cause, since when she is having this?

Give additional details:

How does heat or cold affect her pain and her in general? (climate/temperature preference)

what are the remedies taken till now? and what was the reaction?

What are the factors that make the problem worse? what time is she worse?

What are the factors that make the problem better?

Does she have aversion or craving for any food items? And if she has any aversion/craving in general, also mention it.

Tell something about her temperament, emotional profile.

Any other details would also be helpful.
