Hairloss after Mirena someone please help!

I am 27 and a mother of 3. Last July of 09 my son was born and my hair was thick and very full. In September I had the Mirena IUD inserted and started to become very very sick. Dizzy spells, nausea, blinding headaches, joint pains, and the worse one of all was my hair loss. Not only was I losing my hair tremendously but around the roots of hair had become very very oily wich had never happened to me before. I literally would lose huge handfulls of hair a day. I had the IUD for about 4 months when I finally figured out that was the problem. I had it removed in January and my hair loss started to slow down around May. Since May my husband and I had to move with our children to the Eastern Shore of VA near the beach and my hair is falling out tremendously again, now it is very very dry and brittle. I am right now using about 5,000 mcg of biotin a day and a multi vitamin. I read that shampoos with sodium laureth sulfate can cause hair loss so I bought Kenra wich is sulfate free. No luck at all though. Still dry and still falling out. It started out mainly in the front around my face but I'm now noticing throughout it is getting thin and some patches. My scalp in some places looks scaly and it itches in different spots. I don't know if it's dandruff or some other scalp disorder? I have had my thyroid and full blood panel done in June and everything was normal except slightly elevated liver enzymes. I m going next week to have my blood rechecked to make sure it is still the same. I now have lost what I think is over half of my hair volume and I am losing my mind. I never thought this would be a problem in my life and I don't know what to do. I read about Arnica and ordered the 6c tablets to try. I also ordered Parachute Pure Coconut Oil and SBL's Arnica Montana Hair Oil and SBL's Arnica Montana Herbal Shampoo With AJC. I have not tried any of these yet because they have not arrived. I expect them to be here sometime next week I just don't know what I need to use when, how often or what I should do. At this point I am willing to try anything. I am under alot of stress as I am a full time student, stay at home mom, I homeschool my daughter, and my children are 6,3, and 1. No grandparents or anyone to help it's just all me. Does anyone have any suggestions for the hair loss. Also what about the depression, stress and anxiety? Is there anything that I can take thats all natural to get ahold on this. With my liver being the way it is I don't want to have to take any more meds than I have to and I feel that maybe this stress is not helping the hair loss problem either. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and helping me out.

Patient ID: Sex: Female Age: 27

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?

Hairloss, Severe Anxiety & weight problems. My anxiety I believe causes alot of my symptoms such as headaches, shortness of breath, back pain, tingling in my chest, my hands shake alot when I get stressed out. I think my hair loss and weight could also be increasing my anxiety.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

My liver enzymes are elevated and I am actually going to the doctor for an ultrasound next week to determine what is causing abdominal pain I have been having.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

My hair loss is causing me to be paranoid about how I look along with my weight gain. I cannot seem to get this weight off. I am 30lbs over weight. I have always had problems with anxiety and depression. When I have anxiety attacks it's almost to the point where I cannot catch my breath and I constantly feel tense. I wake up every morning with back and neck aches and I am guessing that is just from even in my sleep just feeling so much tension.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

Like I could just curl up in a ball and cry. I get angry when I am stressed out but then the tension and anger turns to sadness and regret for being angry in the first place. So therefore I then usually cry for allowing myself to be so stressed out.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

The hairloss started a year ago, my anxiety has been this way almost my whole life but has gotten severe like it has in the past 2 years. My husband has been laid off from his job a few times and it took months to find work. That has put alot of pressure on me. We almost lost our house a few times. Having to move to new places I know nothing about and not having family or anyone to help me with my children makes me very overwhelmed. Even when things calm down and we are stable as far as my husbands job it's almost like I have obsessed and been stressed out for so long I dont know how to relax and not stress out anymore.

6. Which time of the day you are worst? mid day and afternoons

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Not having any time to myself. My childrens father works 6 days a week 10 hour shifts and I am in school full time as well at an online university so it leaves me no time to take for myself. I love my children so much but sometimes they can overwhelm me, my weight is a big issue as well. It makes me paranoid about how I look. Along with bills, debt, and just me not feeling great and being tired adds to my tension.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? It could we did move 8 hours from NC to VA in May but I cant be certain.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

Usually I would say during hot weather but I honestly have felt horrible this summer.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I am very very moody, I can be arrogant, I am nervous more often than I would like to be, sometimes suspicious I just don't trust easily, my husband can say things that will easily offend me, I get irritated more than I should. I do argue with my sibling alot as well, and don't exercise at all. I am just always too drained mentally and physically.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? Very relaxed during a thunderstorm
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Yes when I am upset I love for my husband to just hug me and let me know everything will work out and be okay.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Noise definately
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? I have a habit of pulling my nails off, chewing at them, and I do cry alot.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

My fears are being alone, or being without a home. Or my husband to think I'm ugly because of my weight gain even though he reasures me everyday otherwise. I have come so close so many times to not having a place to call home for myself and my children that it is a huge fear. That and my husband losing his job.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

I crave salty, sour, spicy foods. I also love sweets. I tend to eat when I get stressed out or depressed. That is another problem I am having is eating healthy and not eating just out of habit. This has caused me to gain alot of weight.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? normal sometimes excessive

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? I am hungry all the time. I seem to have an endless appetite.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? No

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Lately I have been waking pu at night sweating around my neck alot and sometimes during the day.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Normal

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? Once I fall asleep I seem to sleep okay. It's falling asleep I have the most trouble with. I usually sleep on my side.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? Yes

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body? My chest sometimes tingles when I get severely stressed out.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? In the past my doctors have prescribed zoloft or lexapro wich just made me even more irritable. They also prescribed Klonopin for anxiety attacks.

22. What major diseases are running in your family? As far as I know diabetes, the men in my dads family have alot of heart problems, my dad also has elevated liver enzymes, there is also a history of mental and anxiety disorders on both sides of my family.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance. I am 5'2' I weigh 150 lbs. I have blonde hair, olive tone skin, however I am very unhappy with my appearance due to my weight.

I forgot to answer the question about how I feel about my husband and children. I love them very very much and they are my whole world. My husband is very supportive and we despite all of our hardships in the past have a wonderful relationship. We RARELY ever argue. My kids are wonderful they can just be a handful and overwhelming sometimes and that causes alot of my stress.

please be patient. Many of the devoted practitioners on here have been loaded with questions and many cases.

The practitioners also have families to take care and to look after them as well, just like you and I.

and along with other obligations as well.

If you waited this long, you and I agree that we can wait few days more.

take care.
