Sepia and Severe Hormone Imbalance
I am presenting my case from the onset of Symptoms at age 10-11. I am a 34 year old female with 2 children (both boys). I started my first menstrual period when I was 10 years old. My periods have always been very very heavy with severe craps throughout my teens and early twenties. At 11 I started having problems in school (getting in trouble a lot) I became very aggressive and unhappy with my life. At age 14 I moved out of my mother's home and in with my father (divorced when I was 4). At the age of 15 I was rushed to the hospital with what they thought was a burst appendix but turned out to be Ruptured Ovarian Cysts (Right Ovary). A large cyst (Golf ball size) ruptured causing excessive pain and there were many small cysts present. A laparoscopy was preformed and the cysts and fluid removed. I continued to have ruptured cysts throughout my teens and twenties but none requiring surgery. I had some acne as a teen but nothing serious. Some on my forehead, back and chin. BY age 19, the adult cystic acne started and was concentrated on both sides of my chin (right side worse then left). I got pregnant with my first son at age 23 and ALL of my hormonal issues DISAPPEARED. My aggressive, angry, and unhappy feelings all went away while I was pregnant and for about 1 year after birth. Then my hormonal symptoms returned again 1 year after birth with the adult acne (chin. The aggressive personality returned but not as severe. I became pregnant with my second son at age 27 and again I became very very happy and ALL hormonal irregularities were GONE until about 1 and 1 half years after birth. I bleed for 6 months straight after the birth of second child but only 6 weeks with first child. I breastfeed for 10 months with this child, only 5 months with the first child. Hormonal imbalance became a problem again at age 29 getting worse each month. Adult acne, severe hair shedding, pain at ovulation with large amounts of discharge, constipation (had throughout childhood also) mood swings, very heavy clotting periods, iron deficiency Anemia, athletes foot, muscle aches and pains (right calf consistent) lack of libido, headaches, heart palpitations, night sweats, yeast infections, fatigue, and teeth grinding during sleep. I went for a routine Pap May 2008 and my GYN ordered an Ultrasound because my ovaries and uterus were enlarged. They found my Uterus to be very very thick and my left ovary to contained multiple small cysts and there was also a complicated cyst within the left ovary. The right ovary contained 1 large hypoechoic solid mass. Laparoscopy was preformed in June of 2008 and the following was done:Right Salpingo Oophorectomy, Excision Posterior Endometriosis, Lysis of Adhesions and Dilatation and Curettage. They found a substantial amount of Endometriosis and removed the Solid Mass (benign) along with the ovary and cysts but kept the left ovary and uterus intact.
Hormonal Imbalance symptoms above remained the same after surgery. I started Sepia 200C Nov. 2009 and it seemed to work wonders the first 3-4 months. Periods were lighter then usual, and cycles were longer (27-28 days instead of 21-22 days). Acne decreased dramatically and mood became much much better. Most if not all symptoms seemed to be relieved by the Sepia. By march-April 2010, cycles fluctuate from 23-28 and chin acne has returned, sometimes cystic but not as severe as prior to the Sepia. Hair shedding has never stopped throughout all of this. Please see my other posts in regards to Sepia dosage change recently. I appreciate you taking the time to review my case.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Fear of being different, ask myself 'why me', my skin embarrasses me, frustrated because I don't know what's causing all of this imbalance. Lack of patience.
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
It all started shortly after my first period at 10 years old.
6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Probably afternoon.
7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.
Eating certain things seems to make things worse. Sitting is difficult during ovulation because of painful endometriosis/rectum pain. I can't wear things tightly around my neck, I can't stand anything touching my throat.
Getting good rest and exercising regularly makes me feel better but doesn't make my symptoms go away.
8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
Definately menses. I seem to do better weeks 2-3 of my cycle but I am never totally normal. I seem to do better in drier climates.
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I used to hate when it was hot (teens-20's) now I can't stand the cold. My body just can't tolerate the cold. I feel better in dry weather. But I love the rain and Thunderstorms.
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

My family is completely abnormal. One sister does drugs, another is in very deep with her religion, my mother is a hoarder and a recluse. My father died from Cancer. I adore my 2 children, both are very intelligent but I lack patience with them. I feel very lucky to have a wonderful, caring, attentive husband but he annoys me quite often and I don't like to be touched by him sometimes.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
I don't have many sexual desires but when I do, I am able to satisfy them, yes.

How are you feeling after the first dose of Sepia LM 1? Your comments seem more relaxed and calm.
Sep. LM1 in 4oz, should last at least 10 doses. You may need one per week or less frequently, so it should last a while.

Dear Jewish Homoeopath,
I can't understand why do you select Sepia? Her overall symptoms indicate Lycopodium Clavatum. Would you please clear it.

Before I'm sure of Sepia, I want to find out how she is feeling on the new SEP LM1. Sepia is the remedy that she's been on for many months and has some good response with. I think that her emails are a bit more calm since she started the Sep LM1.
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/237476/
Sepia is a major anti-psoric and anti-figwart medicine, and her symptoms seem mostly psoric (acne) and figwarts (waking 3am, etc.).
There are many Sep. symptoms. From Kent's LMM
'The menstrual symptoms are of all sorts, no particular derangement characterizes... it has cured profuse as well as scanty flow.'
'Moody, Suspicious, Easily Offended, Arguing, Impatient.'
Lack of patience.
Constipation.
Weaping.
Constipation, moodiness, decreased sex drive / lack of libido.
Symptoms that began after and in relation to childbirth. Etc.
I welcome other thoughts about other remedies.

Hello, thanks to both of you for responding. I feel a touch improved since the LM1 initial dose but nothing indicating significant improvement yet. The 200c dose definatley was much more dramatic improvement the first 3-4 days of Sepia. This dose has done a little. I am not really open to new remedies until I can 'PROVE' Sepia isn't going to work at ANY dose. In all of my research of Sepia, I feel this remedy is almost, if not, exactly my makeup. Personality, appearence, and symptoms all match Sepia and I have read many many articles on this particular remedy. I am not opposed to trying different remedies, just not until I/Dr. can rule out Sepia completely. I had such great results with Sepia, I am just wondering if there are dosage adjustments needed in recovery to cure. JH, please let me know if I can take another dose and when and if we need to adjust it again. When I wrote the initial post, I was headed to 3rd week of cycle and 'PMS', that could have been reflected in the post :)I did however go to a 28 day cycle this time around. Could it be the new dose of Sepia taken on my 25th day of last cycle? Thank you much.

Let's wait until you feel that the first use of Sep. LM1 has worn off. Then we will increase the strength a bit. Ok?

I am still presenting symptoms as I have new cystic acne :( Please advise if I can somehow get this under control. I have a very important meeting at the end of this month and I have to present in front of a large group of people. Is there something I can take that will compliment the Sepia. My other symptoms seem to be well controlled at the moment. When I took the Sepia 200c, it completely cleared my skin for 3-4 months. I have never been that clear for an extended period of time until then. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you SO MUCH!

There isn't anything with homeopathy that can clear up acne/psora so urgently. Homeopathy believes that most conditions are due to the suppression of psora in the first place. It also believes that most secondary symptoms will be cured completely when the psora is cured.
Let's take the Sepia LM1 again with a small adjustment. Shake/succuss the bottle 15 times, and then take 1/2 a teaspoon and put it into 4oz of pure water. Then please take 2oz of that liquid.
If this has a good effect, let's move to this once per week. Please add your response at least once per week to assess this.

I do not expect the acne to be cured immediately. In general, if there is an improved feeling of well-being, and other symptoms decrease, that is an indication that a complete cure is in progress.

In regards to the dose of Sep. LM1 that I just described. Wait until you feel that you are ready for more Sepia. Then you may use as described.

JH, thank you so much! Are you in the US? How can I thank you besides just telling you online. I appreciate your prompt responses and caring. I will do as you said with the Sepia LM1, maybe tomorrow if I feel my skin is getting worse and dependant on my overall mental feeling. I am currently at the point of my cycle where my hormones would be at their lowest and usually my skin is at it's best (never great) But it is having some issues currently but not totally out of control. I know I am still out of balance though because I still have a lack of patience. When I first started Sepia, even my personality completely mellowed out. I was so happy, I just want that feeling back as I know it is possible. Thank you again!!! I will keep you posted. Have a wonderful evening!

Often an LM dose can last anywhere from a week to more than a month. Some patients use them daily, but 15-30 days is normal.

Hi JH! I took the first dose of SEP LM1 last Thursday and I have been feeling better. I didn't start to notice any change until about Sunday. I can tell it is working because it changes my thoughts about myself. I feel better about myself, more confident. My acne has decreased some. I am having some ovulation pain this morning but not unbearable. My libido has increased some also. It's not a dramatic increase in these but there is improvement. I'm wondering if I still feel good by this Thursday, it will be one week on the LM1, if I should go ahead and take another dose? As not to have a relapse again? Please advise. How are you? Thank you for checking on me :-)

When you are sure that the latest dose has decreased, you can use the Sep. again.
The current process is to shake/succuss the bottle 15 times. Take 1/2 spoonful and put it into 4oz of water. Then take 2oz of that liquid.
If repeating 1 time per week is good, then let's continue with that.

I am going to repeat the dose tomorrow since it will be 1 week since the last dose. I do feel it is level or somewhat decreasing. I do have a question. My seasonal grass pollen allergy is starting to give me trouble. I have a homeopathic medicine that I buy at the health food store and it helps a great deal. I would like to know if I can take this while on Sepia? Here are the ingredients:
Adrenalinum 6X (decongestant), Allium Cepa 6X (relieves allergy symptoms), Arsenicum Iodatum 6X (relieves allergy symptoms), Euphrasia Officinalis 6X (relieves allergy symptoms), Sabadilla 6X (relieves allergy symptoms), Sanguinaria Canadensis 6X (relieves allergy symptoms), Histaminum Hydrochloricum 12x (antihistamine), Argostis Gigantea 12X (allergen {redtop grass}), Avena Sativa 12X (allergen {oat}), Bromus Secalinus 12x (allergen {cheat grass}), Cynodon Dactylon 12X (allergen {bermuda grass}), Dactylis Glomerata 12X (allergen {bermuda grass}), Festuca Pratenis 122X (allergen {fescue grass}), Lolium Perenne 12X (allergen {perennial rye grass}), Phleum Pratense 12X (allergen {timothy grass}), Poa Pratense 12X (allergen {bluegrass}), Secale Cereale 12X (allergen {rye grass}), Sorghum Halepense 12X (allergen {johnson grass}), Triticum aestivum 12X (allergen {wheat}), Zea Mays 12X (allergen {corn}), Alcohol USP, Water Purified.
Please let me know if this is ok to take as my allergies are starting to get bad :( I will follow up with you in the next few days to let you know how the Sepia is working. Again I thank you very very much! Be blessed.

Never use combination homeopathic medicines. It would antidote the Sep.
Sepia has been proven to cure psora, vd, tb, syph, side effects of vaccinations, cancer, and to remove the effects of exposure to toxins.
You want to identify a regular schedule for the Sepia LM.
