Progression from RSV to Pneumonia and now Intermittent Asthma

It is my hope that anyone can offer some advice (Joe L or Sabra, etc) on how to manage to my son's respiratory issues.

He is 3 years of age and due to his having the blood disorder Sickle Cell developed what the doctors lossley diagnosed as RSV, then Asthma. He developed Acute Chest Syndrome, which is common for those with Sickle cell and he is prone to pneumpnia and has experienced rough breathing problems whenever he develops a cold. When he gets sick with a cold, he always is left with a DEEP cough, loads ph phlegm and of course breathing issues. The doctors recommend that we use the inhaler (Albuterol) to regulate his breathing and keep the airways open but the side effects of the steroids (rapud heartbeat, etc) always leaves me uncomfortable.

On the onset of a cold or fever, I use:

Sanguanaria (6c)
Ferrum Phos (6c)
Bromium (6c) - cough

Agraphis Nut - Adenoids and Tonsils
Sulphur - Adenoids and Tonsils

and these have worked well. However, I am in need of something that could possibly proactively manage his breathing so triggers won't leave his little body so devastated, weak and fighting for his life to breathe. I saw some posts by Sabra on using things for Asthma and wanted to know given the full extent of what I have used-is there anything I can do to build up his immune now and potentially keep his airways strong to handle the cold winter ahead and ward of chances of getting pneumonia and addressing his breathing issues as an intermittent asthmatic?

Please advise--thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I note that you hoped that I will take your 3 year old son's case.

I can certainly help with his Asthma but the Sickle Cell Anemia is an ailment which I am currently experimenting with Arnica 30c in the Wet dose but with no positive results although it seems to help.

I use one of 2 remedies for Asthma and you can use:

Blatta Orientalis 6c in the Wet dose which you will give him twice daily.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle twice daily.

You can build up his resistance as follows:

Bacillinum 200. Dose 6 pellets taken sublingually in ONE dose and repeated in 2 weeks. Do not use this remedy other than as prescribed.

Ferrum Phos 6x (not 6c) Dose 2 tablets taken twice daily. Increase the dosage if he shows signs of catching a cold.

Bryonia 200 in the Wet dose taken thrice daily as a gargle and swallowed later on the first sign of catching a throat virus.

Please report his response in a week after you give him the first dose for his Asthma.

Stop all other medication when you do so.

Thanks so very much for your reply-much appreciated.

Regarding the asthma instructions, should I do this now proactively or at the onset of an attack and for how long should I do this for (a week)?
Also for the immune building, other than the Bacillinum, should the Ferrum phos and Bryonia be taken for 7 days only too? Just want to be sure--thanks again..

I presume that you are aware that I have given you the list of all the remedies that I have prescribed to other patients to help your 3 year old son to build up his resistance to catching colds which will hopefully help his future growth.

I have prescribed Blatta O for his Asthma taken twice daily presuming that he is wheezing on a daily basis. If he is not wheezing, you do not have to give it to him twice daily. Just once daily before bed will do but continue with it for a month and report his response. What I want to know is whether it has helped with his wheeze or not.

The Bryonia is only to be used if he starts a sore throat when this remedy will invariably abort the virus. It should not be used in the manner that the other remedies are to be used.

I have used Arnica 30c for a few cases of Sickle Cell Anemia and you can add this remedy in the Wet dose taken twice daily and observe his Blood levels and report his response. This remedy is to be used on a daily basis leaving an hour between other remedies. You may like to know that it has helped some patients with their blood levels but they were adults. I am hoping that a 3 year old can also be helped.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Joe,

Thanks much and as always for your advice. I will take heed to the advise for the Byronia and the Blatta O.

He is an intermittent asthmatic, so generally he wheezes , and develops a bad cough along only when he develops a cold. Otherwise he does not wheeze and why I asked how to boost the immune system.

Thanks much. I will report back when I get my order and have administered the dose to him for his immune system.

P.S. I continue to give him the Arnica but one dose and nightly. Will see how he does and report back

Joe,

The bacillinum is not sold in the US and I had to order the single dose from the UK. They stated that the single dose consists of 75 pellets? Am I to mix the 75 pellets with water? This is the Bacillinum 200 single dose u recommended my son (3 years old) take to boost immunne and ward off colds. Please advise, thanks!

'They stated that the single dose consists of 75 pellets? Am I to mix the 75 pellets with water?'

Most definitely NOT.

You will only need about 6 - 10 pellets which will depend on their size which you can describe to me after you have received the remedy.

These pellets are taken sublingually by the patient.

Follow-up response/question.
So after a 2 week delay in getting the Bacillinum, I finally got it yesterday. They are in the tiny pellets (slightly glossy and similar to the pellets by Boiron)form and there are apporximately 70 - 80 pellets. These were sold by Ainsworth, Bacillinum 200c, pills 007g. So how much should I utlize for my 3year-old?

Can you please let me know what the diameter of these pellets are?

Joe De Livera last decade
the pellet is approximately 2 - 3 mm in diameter

You can give him ONE DOSE of 4 pellets sublingually.

Remember that this remedy is a Nosode and cannot be taken on a regular basis.

I shall instruct you on repeating the dose if found necessary in about a month depending on his response to the first dose.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for responding. I will give him the dosage as instructed and check in in abt a month's time as follow-up to this. I will follow your guidance for adult dosage as instructed on the other thread for myself as I and my husband have decided to also take it (smile).
Thanks again and God bless.

Joe,
Hello again. I am not sure if something was already brewing internally but after administering the pellets, he woke up this morning with a runny nose and the start of a cough (very junky, as if he is full of mucous). Any thoughts? It has been very tempremental weather wise, warm last week and cold this week, rainy, etc and this tends to impact the onset of a cold and the severity of it. I am hoping that this will treat the onset of this bout with what appears to be an upcoming cold. I am concerned about the cough (which may be good to get the mucous out of his system.

Bacillinum 200 is best taken when the patient is clear of all ailments. My apologies for not having warned you to be sure that your son was clear before he took the dose.

It is possible that he was already infected or was harbouring the cold virus when he took the remedy and if so it seems to have broken out.

Ferr Phos 6x is the remedy to help treat the cold virus and the dosage is 3 tablets taken every 3 hours. This is a useful remedy to have around and is most effective when the patient uses it at the first sign of a cold coming on.

If however the flu starts with a sore throat the remedy of choice is Bryonia 200 in the Wet dose taken every 3 hours as a gargle which is then swallowed. It will also help to prevent the cough virus from migrating into the lungs.
