This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Rhus-tox will only help you if your disease has a Rhus-tox 'flavour'. It is not the name of your condition that determines cure in homoeopathy, but the specific and individual symptoms you have. The common symptoms of the disease will not be as helpful as unusual or peculiar symptoms you have.

Rhus-tox is primarily STIFF, TIGHT, DIFFICULT to get MOVING. But it is always better for MOVEMENT despite the initial pain that comes from attempting it. There is a sensation of RESTLESSNESS in the part or the person themselves, with a desire to keep moving despite the pain.

So Rhus-tox is Stiff, Tight, Restless, better for Moving although the first Movement is painful.

This stiffness can also appear on the mental level, resulting in an almost superstitious nature. The can be obsessive, rigid, set in their ways. They are restless in their thoughts as well, and although it can be hard for them to get motivated, once they start doing something it becomes easier and they feel better.

Rhus-tox is markedly affected by the cold, and especially the cold wet.

Thanks for the reply. I am extremely STIFF and TIGHT in my lower back. Spondylothesis is the arthritic name for this condition.

I am not a stiff, uptight person. I am a free spirit but deal with a very tight stiff lower back.

I woke up at age 18 with a lower back condition and just have dealt with it all my life and now at 72 it's gotten progressively worse.

Would Rhus Tox 6C help me.

And yes my stiffness and tightness gets worse with coldness. When the weather changes to cooler weather, I hurt more and get tighter.

There is no way to tell without a case being taken. The symptoms you have described are common for you condition, and the common symptoms generally are not very useful for making homoeopathic prescriptions.

Stiff and Tight are common symptoms for arthritis, and are common to many remedies in homoeopathy as well. There are at least 40 remedies known to produce/cure stiffness and tightness. However, because those are common symptoms, the symptoms that might lead you to the curative remedy will probably have nothing to do with stiffness and tightness.

Successful homoeopathic prescriptions are made by taking a complete record of all the sufferings of the patient, taking special note of anything that is peculiar for the condition. These peculiar characteristics may be found in unrelated aspects of the person's health, such as their sleep or their memory.

When a medicine is prescribed for a few symptoms common to the disease, you will usually get one of 4 reactions.

1. the remedy will palliate the symptoms but will not cure them. Palliation over time becomes less effective, and the remedy will beging to produce side-effects.

2. The remedy will suppress the disease, but something worse will appear further down the track. Suppression is very common in orthodox medicine (for which they take no responsibility).

3. The remedy will fail to do anything and the patient will make the mistake of thinking homoeopathy has failed them.

4. By a stroke of luck, the remedy IS the right one, and the patient will get improvement. If only this happened as often as people hope for. The above 3 reactions are much more common, and this one is very rare.

Thanks, oh for a cure, I'd like relief. I'm not sure what I'll do after reading your replies.
