The ABC Homeopathy Forum

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
That is one of those ridiculous superstitions that crops up in homoeopathy all the time unfortunately. Nat-mur can be repeated whenever it is needed, and there is no need for an intercurrent unless the patient clearly displays the need for one.
An intercurrent is a remedy that is used when the initial remedy is struggling to deal with something specific in the case. It may be a completely new set of symptoms, or it may be a chronic symptom that is not responding to the first remedy (although other symptoms are responding). There are more uses for intercurrents and probably it is not necessary to go into them all here.
There are reasons to be cautious about repeating remedies - primarily this is decided on the previous reaction of the patient, but can also be determined by other things.
It is quite likely that your insomnia has been suppressed over the years, and has become more deeply entrenched in your consitution. You will also have a degree of dependence on the medication. Repairing this situation is unlikely to be easy.
To get confident advice from a practitioner regarding how safe it is to repeat a high potency of Nat-mur, can you give more details on exactly how it helped you, and anything else that happened after taking the remedy.
