It was my fault - I did not notice that one of the screws that holds her feeder to the barn wall had backed out a little bit. I'm not sure what happened that precipitated the injury, but I found her with this gaping 4 inch gash on her face and a big chunk of hair and hide hanging off the screw.

But yes! The remedy did seem to be helping and I credit the remedy for keeping her calm on the way down to the vet hospital. Normally, trips in the trailer are very traumatic for her. But this time, she was quite when we arrived.

Yes! Wonderful that is a great first sign. Very promising then.

I suspect that we may need to get hold of higher potencies soon, but lets see how things progress after she comes back from the hospital.

That sounds great! As of right now, we're hoping she can come home Friday. The vet has 2 concerns about her coming home; the proximity of the injury to her eye and the fact that the laceration exposed her skull. She may even have an injury to the skull - we could not tell because of all the swelling. Also, by the time I discovered her injury, she had gotten a lot of dirt, shavings, and straw in the wound, so everyone is afraid of infection. Oh, that is another worry - they have her on antibiotics and she will have to continue to take them once she gets home. Will that interfere with the remedy?

How did things go?

Hi David!

It's great to hear from you - I was worried you may have gotten swept up in the flooding!

Jacy (mare) is doing great! Her head is healing, she's done with her antibiotics and back on her remedy. While her milk bag remains engorged, her fear has subsided dramatically! For the last week, I have not heard her kick the barn once! She is also finally asserting herself with the other horses!

That is good news - are you continuing with the Aconite?

Yes, Aconite 30X dissolved in the jar like you recommended. I smack the jar on the counter and then suck about 10 cc's into the syringe and squirt that into her mouth 3 times a day.
