Severe Hair Loss/Acne/Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

Hello dear sirs and madam,

I am a 40-year-old woman with severe hair loss, such that now my hair is pretty much gone and my scalp shows. I am trying to save what I can of my hair, so I want some help. I have never used homeopathy. I am in the United States.

Symptoms: I have diffuse hair loss all over my head. I have been losing my hair since I was 18.

I have acne also for 20 years.

I have had ultrasound and I have polycystic ovarian syndrome.

I also had partial thyrodectomy because of thyroid nodule.

I take Armor Thyroid supplement (pig thyroud extract) and Spioloctone and Metformin and Amoxillin for my acne and PCOS.

My hair loss is getting more and more severe, and all this medicine is just not helping.

My scalp is always itchy, and I am told that I have miniaturization of hair and dermatitis.

I want to try homeopathic alternatives, and if there are doctors here willing to help me, I would be very grateful.

I have read that there are Ayurvedic oils that can help but Coconut oil makes my acne worse and makes my scalp break out in acne all over.

I don't know what to do. I am very depressed, self conscious, and getting more and more withdrawn.

Can someone help me please?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I should also mention that I have hair growth on my upper lip and chin, and I have been gaining weight a lot, even though I don't eat all that much. My doctors think I have insulin resistance, but not diabetes.

My regular doctors feel that these are all symptoms of the cysts in my ovaries, but they do not have any way to cure.

My periods are also now very irregular.

I hope someone will help me, please.

Patients can use this questionnaire for submitting their cases. The effectiveness of remedy selection is directly proportional to the details provided by the patient while replying these questions.

Patient ID: NEHARIKA
Sex: FEMALE
Age: 40

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
I am losing my hair, and now it is so think, my scalp shows through and I cannot hide the loss. I use various powders from hair loss sites to hide my hair loss, but now it doesn't work as much because my hair is so thin.

I also have severe nodular/cystic acne.

I have itchy scalp.

I also have cysts in my ovaries PCOS.

I also have thyroid nodule in my left thyroid. I have the right side of my thyroid taken out. My blood tests show that my TSH levels are normal right now, with Thyroid medicine called ARMOR THYROID.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
Weight gain, hair growth on upper lip and chin, nonstop acne.

Generally feel lethargic and low energy.

I also recently found that I have one kidney stone.

My knees crack when I bend.

My neck gets very stiff and tight. And my entire body gets very tense and tight.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Severe anxiety because of the hair loss and loss of confidence.

Lethargy and stress make me feel overwhelmed. I feel frustrated and powerless often.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

At my worst, I feel very anxious and overwhelmed. I feel a lot of fear in general about the future. I withdraw and get very quiet and solitary.

My cysts also make my stomach hurt a lot before my periods. I get bloated.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

It seems that some of the symptoms of hair and acne started when I was 15 or so.

But it all seemed to get really worse when I was 21 or so. At 25 I had my gall bladder taken out because it had stones.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
I am not really sure. I guess at night I tend to get most bloated and feel energy-less.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Stress and work and bad diet make it all much worse. I feel stressed out all the time.

Meditation, drinking a lot of water, and positive thinking help.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
Yes, definitely. When stress from work and family get overwhelming, my periods go out of control. I sometimes get them twice a month. Sometimes I don't get them for two months. I get a lot of cysts.

My hair is more fragile and comes out more during the two weeks before my period.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I am not sure about this. I feel the same all year around. Maybe emotionally I like cold weather more, so I sense that I feel better then. My hair loss does seem to be more during cold weather. I get more acne during the cold weather.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I am moody, nervous, easily offended, and quiet.I argue, but try to stay out of arguments as much as I can. I try to let others do what they want, unless if they are intruding in my space.

I am not arrogant at all, in fact I am quite humble.

I am not lazy; I work a lot.

No. I like to be alone and to take care of my emotions alone.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Yes, I am very sensitive to noise, light, smells,to everything. I get very easily affected by moods around me. I need a lot of silence and quiet around me all the time.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
My typical habit is to get very quiet and withdrawn. I don't cry easily.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
Family not ideal. Stressful and very dysfunctional.

I fear losing control of my life and independence. I worry about that all the time, even when not needed. I cannot get rid of that anxiety. I am constantly worried.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I like eating sweets, like cakes. I crave sweets almost all the time. I try to avoid refined sugars to control my PCOS, but it is very hard.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Less. I have to force myself to drink. I hate the taste of water. I am now trying to drink more because I have a kidney stone and my doctor wants me to drink all the time.

No.

Yes, very different. I feel I spend a lot of time in my head. I read a lot of books all the time.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
I am CURRENTLY taking Armor Thyroid, Metformin, Amoxyllin, and Spironolocton (sp?). Metformin makes my hair loss worse, I think, but the three medications keep my acne in check. Metformin keeps my weight lower. Armor regulates my mood. Without Armor, I get very emotional.

Thank you very much for your response. I wonder though if calcium is what I need to stop the hair loss. My scalp itches all the time.

I have been reading about arnica...can that help me?

Can I continue to take the medicine I have listed as taking?

Again, thanks.

Calc Carb is not a calcium supplement. It is a deep acting remedy that i feel is indicated on the basis of your totality of symptoms.
Arnica is not indicated in your case.
You may stop the medicines that you have been taking.

Dr. Kadwa,

I finally got some Calc Carb and will start the dose in the morning.

Just to make sure I understand this. I should just let the 4 pills per dose dissolve under my tongue, right?

ALSO, I drink tea a lot. Is it okay to continue to drink tea? I don't drink coffee.

Thank you for your help!

Dr. Khadwa,

It has been 10 days since I took the medicine. I see no change.

I am very fatigued. Extremely tired.

I also have zero concentration ability. I cannot focus on anything.

I am also breaking out with acne, but I think that is more because of my diet.

I went to see a local naturapth yesterday, and he told me to take two more doses.

So, this morning, I took 4 pills, dissolved under tongue.

Tonight I will take 4 more.

That's it.

Please advise.

I am also taking these supplements:
Probiotic supplement
Saw Palmetto
Fermented Cod Liver Fish Oil
Milk Thistle

Thank you for your time and patience. This is a wonderful site, and I am grateful for your help.
