Lyme Disease with Bone Spur/Plantar Fascitis
I have been dealing with Chronic Lyme Disease with Bartonella & Babesia coinfections for 30+ years, and under an MD specialist's care for the last 8 or so.I am posting here because a bone spur in my right foot, big toe, coupled with Plantar Fascitis, began to give my problems whenever I try to do a vigorous walk of over 1/2 mi about 3 years ago.
I went to see a Podiatrist, who said shot, surgery or expensive orthodics. I chose orthodics and a whole new wardrobe of shoes that I could wear with them. I gave up on the Podiatrist long ago, and just use orthodics. However, I haven't found any way to walk for exercise without pain, nor can I do any yoga asana that involves bending the toe or putting much pressure on it.
What homeopathic treatment (and other treatments) do you recommend to reduce/control the inflammation that is exacerbated by winter and cold and use? Is there anything to make the spur go away? What about exercises to support the weak arch/ankle, or is a shoe insert going to be a life-long need?
Thanks so much for your responses.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please use the homeopathy patient intake form in order to give us the appropriate information about your case. Hopefully someone here will help you begin real homeopathic treatment to resolve your issues.

I'll fill out the New Patient form from 12/30, and post as soon as I can sit down and think through the whole thing. Thanks! Do you have a preference for which of the two forms?

What is your exact age ?
When did these problems begin ? What was going on in your life at that time ?
Talk more about your personality, fears, anxieties, and anger if any. Any recurrent feelings, sensations and problems anywhere in the mind or body must be mentioned.
How are your temperature and weather preferences ?
Generals things that make you feel better or worse ?
What diseases run in your family ?
Please don't fill out the questionnaire as yet as that limits your freedom to express things. Write in your own words without being restricted
by specific questions.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I will hold off on the questionnaire. I would have to research my medical records to answer some accurately anyway, and I don't have the time right now.
I am 62 as of last December. The problems with bone spur began in 2008. I'd gone to visit my family in California, where I used a new pair of walking shoes to do vigorous, long walks. Walking was both exercise and time away from my wonderful, but always-present family.
Turned out the shoes did not fit properly and squeezed the ball of my foot. One day I could hardly get back to the house because I got a sudden, excruciating pain in my right foot. It subsided when I stopped walking for awhile, then resumed walking at a very slow pace.
I had no warning, nor did I know I had a bone spur and plantar fascitis. I'd been a regular, vigorous walker and intermittent physical yoga practitioner with no problems before.
Background -- chronic Lyme with Babesia and Borellia co-infections seems to make any condition that is in my body likely to become a health problem. Before the bone spur was a mild heart attack -- when I have low blood pressure and great cholesterol numbers (vegetarian with small amount of dairy products) and no prior/subsequent heart issues. Before the heart attack was massive bleeding during perimenopause, which culminated in an emergency hysterectomy after trying everything else first.
My personality is probably accurately described as intense...mostly in a positive way, but if I'm in a negative space, that is intense too.
I am intelligent, educated, friendly, helpful, communicative, a conscious awareness-expander and 'better maker'. I am working with my Teachers to know everyone is doing the best they can at all times, even me. However, I push myself very hard, and can be a good example of someone pushes themselves always to do better than then already have...maybe unreasonably so, and I do that to others around me too ;)
Recurrent body sensations -- fatigue; sensitive digestive system (I try to eat only food I prepare; preferably in my own kitchen.); pain in elbows, right in particular, that keeps me from doing exercises that require weight bearing on my arms or chanting on Japa; pain in right shoulder blade, which seems to be exacerbated by digestive distress; morning stool usually followed by pain in right shoulder and often right hip that can last from 20min-hours;
I have a HUGE preference for warm, humid weather. I live in Maryland now, but am moving to a place in Florida where it is avg 75F all winter long, and often warmer.
Stress -- physical or emotion -- makes my feel worse in whatever health conditions are currently going on, and will bring on symptoms that are dormant. Foot problem is worsened by cold, vigorous walking over 1/4 mile, and shoes without a special arch and hand-made toe support. Elbow problem is worsened by long periods of keyboarding (I write for a living). Too much white flour/sugary foods or any alcohol worsens my digestive issues.
Sun, rest, meditation, exercise, eating only specially prepared food, working on writing with my husband all make conditions better.
Diseases in family -- diabetes in grandparents; father and paternal uncle died of heart attacks (no pre-warning). No other common diseases -- mother has mild Rheumatoid Arthritis and some glaucoma.
I look forward to your reply.
