please help- am i proving or aggravated

I came off antidperessants about 4 months ago which i originally took ( unwillingly) for 5 years for generalized anxiety disorder and a general dark mood which led to a severe nervous breakdown. all was going well until life thrw a few curve balls at me and i became angry and disappointed a the universe and just wanted to give up.
I have never discovered a single consitiutional remedy but often found Aurum was the closest. This did not work, so about a month later i took a single 200 Arsenicum, as it seemed to fit the picture - particularly the high level of anxiety i was feeling.
Four days later i became very dry and developed a severe cold and cold sores, and I do not know whether i have proved the remedy or if this is part of an aggravation/detox process. how do i know? some schools of thought say aggravations go quickly but others say they can last a long time.and what do i do if it is?

An aggravation, in a chronic disease, might last a few days to a few weeks. Typically I would not expect to see an aggravation last more than a week except in the most sensitive patients. Long aggravations may be because the potency or dose were not appropriate.

An aggravation is your current symptoms getting worse. A proving is new symptoms you have never had before, or your normal symptoms take on new qualities. An aggravation is followed by improvement if the remedy is curative. A proving is usually meaningless in terms of cure (and again mostly happens if the method of dosage is not appropriate).

If you have developed new symptoms, or your current disease has taken on new qualities as a result of a potentized medicine, then the only way to deal with that is to have the correct medicine prescribed for you, taking into account both your typical symptoms plus the extra ones.

thanks brisbane

because my symptoms are mostly mental/emotional and pretty extreme and deep my sense is that these symptoms did not get aggravated, but other aspects fitting in with the remedy picture did - such as the dryness which i was not aware of before but may/may not have been there as i was focussed more on the personality aspect.
if i HAVE proven should i just leave it to run its course or should i antidote. to be honest i am getting rather despairing about my symptoms. my homeopath gave up on me. ive put my details down here. Anyhting you feel may help i will be very grateful.

Have you used homeopathic medicines before? If so what, and what homeopathic potencies did you use? Seen a homeopath for 20 years originally for mouth ulcers. He gave up saying I was an ‘enigma’ . never found a consitiutional remedy but aurum, anacardium and nat mur were the closest, however I have also needed baptisia and bryonia for flu and tried sulphur, mercury, ignatia, staphisagria, lycopodium among others – usually at single dose of 200. I am extremely sensitive in reaction
