This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
return of symptoms mental and physical is a very good sign. They should not last too long though.

Very good!! If a remedy brings back old symptoms it is because the body has never recovered or has been stuck there. In order to get well old symptoms come back so the body can throw them off and get over them in order for the vital force to be balanced again.( healthy)
For example people may experience physicals or mentals since greif, the grief being the cause of these symptoms. a remedy is given and the person is able to get over the grief and may have return symptoms of the grief mentally or physically but not as bad or as long as previously with the outcome of the vital force being balenced again.

Hope that made sense!

Yes it is an excellent sign to get old symptoms returning on a remedy. This is considered to be one of the key indications for a curative remedy.

The only true sign of a curative remedy is of course cure, so while return of old symptoms are very promising, you have to wait to see how things turn out.

Whoever told you it is a bad sign clearly does not understand homoeopathy very well. While it may not definitely point to the simillimum (although in my experience it often does), it is not a bad sign.

There is no difference between physical and mental symptoms when looking at health. A symptom is a symptom.

Remember, many people on the internet giving advice about homoeopathy are not homoeopaths.

There is no way to predict that exactly. Depending on the individual it might be a few hours, days or weeks. Sometimes the return of old symptoms calls for further action - a different dose of the same remedy, a new remedy perhaps. The longer they last the more likely the practitioner will have to act on them.

it's a release of emotions that needs to come out in order to be well. It might not be great at the moment but it should go soon with great amel after.

Did you feel better after the agg on the nat-m? What potency were u given in both remedies? Sometimes if the aggravtion it too much for you, you can repeat the remedy at the same dose again

An aggravation is the remedy creating an artificial disease which is similar to your own disease.

By doing this, it attempts to stimulate your vital force into creating an opposing force to neutralize it, which also neutralizes the natural disease.

By attempting to antidote the aggravation, you are removing the artificial disease, and therefore removing the impetus for the vital force to do any curing.

If there is aggravation, taking further doses of the remedy are more likely to add to the strength of the aggravation rather than cure it. This observation is borne out in all our provings. Provers do not get less symptoms from repeating the remedy, they get more and they get stronger ones.

Hahnemann's instructions are clear - stop the remedy when there is a worsening of symptoms or a reappearance of old ones. Do not mechanically take doses just because someone said to.

Some patients get the same aggravation on every remedy they take. This means nothing in terms of the rightness of the remedy. This simply shows that they are highly sensitive, and the only clear sign of a curative remedy will be long-lasting improvement after the aggravation has stopped.

taking another dose of the same remedy and potency will not antidote the remedy? i agree the return of old symptoms needs to happen but if it is so strong that the patient is worried taking another dose will sometimes help them to move on with improvemnt.
