dear doctorsmy cousin is 11 years old male

he is very soft hearted he says he gets sinking feeling on watching something violent or listening to something sad and violent ....
also he lacks confidence in general quiet introvert ,
also conscious about his looks as he is fat and lacks confidence in interacting with school mates ,
at times he wakes up from sleep and shouts also there is something peculiar about him that he can be made to walk in sleep without affecting his say from one room to another
he lacks interest in studies and is not keen to discuss his studies related problems or seeking help in improving on his shortcomings ,i have tried talking to him and proposed that he should develop atleast reading habit be it any subject but he did not showed interest ,i took him to a very good book store and he did not pick even a single book ,what can be done to improve his interest in studies ,i am concerned as his performance is as it is not good at schools and lest he internalize his lack of performance into other aspect of personality
he has craving for noodles

life cycle,
How does he behave in front of strangers?
When a new person comes to your house he is introduced to him, how does he cope with that then?
Does he do stage performances in school functions?
What is the activity that intrests him? what does he love doing? ( his favourite time pass?)
regards,
Dr. Yogesh

Life Cycle,
If you ask him OR force him to study how does he react?
He gets angry/irritated?
He says YES but still will not do it?
Or
Do it lazily? OR Anything else.
Does he grasp new topics & understands easily or does it take time & repeated hammering as to make him understand?
Regards,
Dr. Yogesh

when he is asked to study he gets irritated and angry with least provocation ,he is himself keen to study and learn during exams but he keeps procrastinating.

he does grasp new topics easily
but he lacks the hunger in himself to seek knowledge or inquisitiveness.

'lacks confidence in general' means that he is found expressing his lack of belief in himself when he is interacting with friends and cousins ....he seeks support from parents and other elders in his interaction with others.
Quiet introvert
does not show interest in interacting with others children of his age group or elders he also has this inhibition of being ridiculed because of his flabby body type, prefers being quite ,lacks inquisitiveness towards environment, does not like reading or show keenness in knowing things about any topic he does show a little interest in cricket but other than that nothing else.
