materia medica information please
i have two requests:1.can someone tell me where to refer about alcohol as a homeopathic remedy?
2.if like cures like can alcohol cure alcoholism ,if so can we make a remedy with the specific liquor a person is consuming(as the signs of excess are already showing in form of addiction and its manifestation) ?

i think i can give answer to a 2nd question with my lomoted understanading of homeopathy and i want to mention here that i am grateful to dr.kadwa who is helping me by curing me .......
the excess of alcohol produces certain symptoms and distortions in the body agreed but what can cure an alcoholic is the relief from withdrawal symptoms so the propositions that the same brand of alcoholic drink can be used as a cure does not hold true here .
Rather the cure can be found in a remedy that helps in tackling the withdrawal symptom including the craving for alcohol.

In terms of using Alcoholus to help an alcoholic, it would only be helpful in a purely Isopathic way (to remove an obstacle to cure caused by the poisoning) or if the peculiar state of the patient matches the state of the remedy.
It is important to understand that being an alcoholic is a lot more than just drinking too much alcohol. It is a whole state of mine, heart, and body that was *not* caused by alcohol, but existed independently of it. The alcohol is merely a vehicle for expressing this state.
When alcoholics go into a program, even when they abstain from alcohol for years, they continue to show the weaknessess and flaws which created their alcoholism in the first place. This is what must be cured, and this will vary from person to person.
If only it were as easy as simply giving the drug of choice to an addict in potency to cure their addiction. This has not been borne out in clinical situations. The nature of an addict is something that is an integral part of their own chronic disease - it is only activated by the substance not caused by it. Many addicts have multiple addictions, some of which are not related to a substance at all (sex, shopping, gambling, pain etc).
When someone displays the symptoms of Alcoholus, because they are poisoning themselves with alcohol, the remedy *may* help with some of the damage. It will not, in most cases, stop them from wanting to do it.
