Sulphur-Acne Medication
Hi,I am disturbed but don't wanna give up on my treatment. I thought maybe if I discuss my situation, I can get some feedback and views from people undergoing the same treatment.
I've had moderate acne for the past 13-14 yrs. I was tested for hormonal imbalance few months back and have been on Sulphur 1M for the past 8 months. My doctor is very renowned and gives me 2 drops every month and sometimes once in 2 months.
Now, after 8 months, I stand in a situation where my skin looks like it never looked before. My face is full of scars. I still breakout. People question me how I look at myself in the mirror. I am nice looking and confident person. Seeing myself in this way really hurts.
If I saw some improvement, I would be motivated and positive. But now I don't know what's going on?
Anyone, same experience?

My professional opinion is that your homoeopath is giving you the wrong remedy, and appears incapable of seeing that. Change homoeopaths unless you feel that demanding better results might work to motivate him to pay attention to your treatment.
Your remedy should show improvements within 2-3 weeks of taking it. 8 months is too long and your remedy should be changed.
What excuses does your homoeopath give for such appalling results?

When starting with the treatment, my doctor mentioned that as I've been applying topical medicines for the past 13-14 yrs, I've lot of suppressed acne. He told me that I would be breaking out a lot initially and eventually my skin would start clearing up. He mentioned 2-3 months but 8 months down the line, I am still breaking out.
When I mention that I am still breaking out to my doctor, he says that it all depends on my suppressed acne. As I've lots, it's taking time to heal.
DO you really feel it's wrong medication?

It is the wrong medicine in my opinion. No results in 8 months is ridiculous. Sounds like he is making excuses - unless you are seeing cure of a whole lot of other symptoms (mental, emotional, general health) and the acne is simply last in a long list? That might be a possible reason for keeping you on a remedy that is not doing anything for the skin (although 8 months is still too long). Is that what is happening, are you getting improvements in all sorts of other areas?

I think emotionally I am. I almost went under depression, had lot of emotional issues and high stress levels. Now, I feel lot better. In that area, yes I think I've seen a change in the past 8 months. My anger is way under control. My digestion is better. But I felt the whole treatment was for my acne. I should actually get my hormone levels tested again, so u the change. Thanks.

Ok so then you are getting results - this is how homoeopathy works, cure from the centre to the periphery. If you are better in all ways except for the skin, then your homoeopath has still done a good job and Sulphur is not necessarily wrong - but perhaps there is an issue with dosage or with the potency.
Complain to your homoeopath - it is your health and your right. Do so and try to get a plan out of him for helping the skin.

Thank you for your time and concern. I am really greatful. I am planning to undergo test for my hormones and compare the reports and see my doctor soon.
8 months has been an emotioanl struggle. I await to look at the mirror, smile and feel good again. It's the first time I heard a response from another doctor and I am going to question about the results and plan of the treatment. Thank you again.

Thank you for your past posts. I just wanted to update you on my new doze.
I met my doctor this weekend after 2 months and he was surprised to see me. Along with the Sulphur 1M dose 2 months back, my doctor also gave me staphysagaria and Ignatia(just in case- as balancing my hormones is causing acute mood swings). I was kicked about these medicines giving instant relief and as a short tempered person I am, I took these medicines several times in the past months. My doctor feels the over outbreak on my face is the result of taking Ignatia and Staphysagria, along with Sulphur 1M.
As I am very worried and 8 months down the treatment, I took the next doze, which is 4 drops of Sulphur 10M. I am continuing with this for the next couple of months and if I see no results, I would stop my treatment.
