Injections used by homeopath, very expensive

I've sought the help of a homeopath for the treatment of menstrual migraines(5-6 a month) and he recommends 10 injections ...very costly...as well as oral remedies.
I am a stay at home mother (we chose to forego luxuries so I could be with my 5 year old boy)who needs some guidance.. I'm half way through the treatment I've run out of money for this homeopathic approach. Are there any other alternatives? Please advise and Thankyou.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi Katarina,

Injections is an unusual way of homoeopathic treatment.
I my opinion you can be cured of Menstrual migraines with help of a constitutional remedy ( a remedy chosen considering all the aspects of your personality) and there is no need of injections.

We could suggest you something if you write all your symptoms here.

Take care...

Oh happy day, some one responded! Thankyou Magicure.
I'm 42 years of age, perimenopasual (no symptoms other then irregular periods)
I will get "bookend" migraines preceding menses and following.
Symptoms are bright white/blue lights or spots in left field of vision, followed by dizziness, then progressively sharp searing rusty railroad spike in the head pain. Where? In the upper right quadrant, and if it progresses, the whole right half of head, occasionaly it will become bilateral and holy smokes this is no fun. Relief can be had with dark and ice packs, no odors, fresh air, no noise, no movement. I become very nauseated and will have to vomit, but cannot endure pain when I bend over, so I have to vomit in a bucket standing up. New medication Imitrex works wonder for ridding headache if I can get it down in time. Yet for days afterwards I get so depressed and foggy after taking the medication. Really the motivation for going to alternative healing. I shall add further info, as needed.
I 'm stark raving new to this forum and will learn how to post and respond.
Appreciate your help

Homeopaths who use expensive injections are only in the game to make MONEY -- avoid them.

Prof Kent said that one should not trust any homeopath who wished to gain either money or reputation!. I couldnt agree more.

This is the migrane headache that is often due to a hereditary problem.

Has there been any Eczema or TB in the family history .

Salt also can have a bearing on this.

Do you like/dislike salt
Feel better/worse at the seaside.
Dislike sympathy --, if you trip over do you enjoy people making a fuss ,, or do you hurry off saying I'm alright?.

While the medication helps , it is only temporarily relieving the problem and is not good to use for long periods.

Thankyou for reponding Passkey.
*Migraines on my father's side of family. My father had cluster migraines, and his mother had menstrual migranes.
*Neither eczema or TB in our known family history.
* I crave salt and abuse it during pre/menses. I like the seaside, love the sound of the ocean, yet the light is uncomfortable when it is sunny.
* uncomfortable with sympathy, unless my identical twin provides her special brand of sympathy. she too gets migraines.
* Yes I surely agree with your view of my choice of medication. Nothing else helped. ANY narcotic type of pain killer would actually inhibit my ability to fight the pain and make it worse. Few people understand this. Only vaso constictors help.

I'm a naturally reclusive person, enjoy quite comptemplative time. Love to read to relax.Television is not soothing and makes me feel anxious.
when I'm with people, I genuinely enjoy their company and have a fun time. However, I then need time to "recharge" my batteries and be alone to catch up.
By profession, I worked as a veterinary technition and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the job.
I have a long fuse, when it goes off, it is Krakatoa(sp).

Allergies:
Food additives (sulfites, MSG etc. Bee sting, peanuts.

This is spotty info, Thank you for your advice.

Nat Mur shows up very strongly here [Puls a poss]

Suggest you get Natrum Mur 10m and take one tablet on three sucessive nights on going to sleep and at least 15 min after cleaning the teeth with a non medicated toothpaste.

Take them midway between periods and wait until a week after the period is finished to judge results.
May need to go higher.

I think it is dangerous and unprofessional to suggest 10M potency to someone you haven't taken a full case from. I also see Nat Mur but suggest it is taken in a much lower potency so that if it is the wrong remedy any harmful aggravations won't last very long.

However why don't you find yourself a local professional Classical homeopath (check qualifications to homeoapthic society) who will prescribe the remedy for you and monitor the situation. Homeopathic injections are a money making unprofessional scam .

Hello Rochelle,
My Mother's name as well :)

I live in a remote rural area in Oklahoma, USA. I have the option to travel to OKC,2.3 hours away, and now believe I shall look up one there and establish a connection. Do to limited buget (espy after being "soaked" by the nearest town's "homeopath" $ 400.00 in 1 month, i wish I could vomit on his shoes!) I was in love with the possibility of ditching my headaches.
I feel shame and anger as you can imagine, needless to say I've dropped him as if he were a garden slug. It is wonderful, however, to hear/learn that my gut instincts where well founded.
What books would you recommend to read for the layperson?
As for Passkey, I appreciated any response and I thank him for his input.
Rochelle thankyou for taking the time to review this case, and giving your input.
Take good care.

Happy to help, I have been a professional homeopath for 35 years .

I hope Rochelle has as much experience

Then Passkey you should know better than to prescribe such a high potency for someone you have never met or taken the case of and although a Registered homeopath I have not been doing it for anything like 35 years.

Dana Ullman is a good writer to explain a lot about homeopathy. "Homeopathy, Medicine for the 21st Century" is good, and is rewritten as "Discovring Homeopathy" (more modern. Don't get both).

"Everyday Miracles" by Linda Johnston, MD. has a lot of explanation on the body and illness. How to "think" about it.

"The Science of Homeopathy" is more advanced, by George Vithouldas. These are not "Materia Medicas" to use to choose remedies.

"Kent's Repertory" is a more difficult book to understand than a Materia Medica for a beginner.

There is a book sales site, I think it is called Minimal, but can't remember right now. Amazon has homeopathic books also. Second hand has always come in good condition so far.

Almost any Materia Medica will get you started in reading remedies. Boericke is popular, but most are very helpful.

Google to and there will be a LOT to go through.

Blessings, Sabra
